  • Easy to assemble
I'd never used a rake that didn't have a solid wooden handle. My experience with "folding" shovels has not been great, so I was expecting the rake to disappoint. The handle went together easily and was strong and stable in use. I'm not hard on a rake of this type--I use it primarily to smooth out soil additives and to de-thatch problem areas in the lawn. I got good performance in both uses. ... show more

  • Sturdy, Versatile & Easy to Use!
This 12-tine bow rake is fantastic! The sharp, efficient tines make quick work of pulling out weeds, dead grass, and rocks, and it’s equally great for leveling soil or spreading mulch. I really like the adjustable handle—it extends up to 60 inches, which saves my back and makes it comfortable for anyone in the family to use. The heavy-duty steel construction with anti-rust coating feels super durable, and the thick welds keep the head firmly in place. The 2-in-1 design is a big bonus, giving me both a rake for loosening and one for leveling. Easy to assemble, store, and built to last—this is definitely a must-have tool for any garden or yard! ... show more

  • Easy to assemble garden rake
I'm only taking off a star because I don't really care for poles that you have to assemble. When you're doing something with a rake, it usually takes quite a bit of effort, so you need a strong sturdy pole, not one that is in pieces. Not that this came apart when I was using it, it didn't, it worked very well, but long term, I'm not sure if it'll hold up to vigorous raking. It was very easy to assemble, and it's quite heavy duty. There's more weight to it than I expected, but in a good way. What I mean by that is that it makes the rake a good weight to rake leaves and and rake up other items in the yard.Without just being pulled over the top of what needs to be raked up. ... show more

  • Great Rake!
I picked up this rake for some real work in my yard, and it’s been a fantastic tool. My favorite part is the adjustable handle. I can set it to a comfortable length so I'm not hunched over, and then shorten it for easy storage in the garage. It’s a really smart feature. The rake head itself is tough. I’ve used it to break up hard, clumpy soil and to spread new gravel on a pathway. The metal tines are super strong and haven't bent at all. Overall it's just a great sturdy rake that feels like it will last a long time. It can handle much more than just leaves. ... show more

  • Heavy and durable
This was easy to assemble and has a good about of weight to it, feeling sturdy and well made. It was shipped with little caps on all the pokey rake tines which was nice to avoid getting injured during assembly. It does not work well for pulling weeds, which is what ai tried it for first. It still removed some stuff but it more cut through them than anything. It did work well for pulling out thatched grass, and all the grass grown over the walkways. I am glad to have this on hand for smaller projects, and getting around the edges where my ride on dethatching rake misses, but it is a bit heavy so I don’t think I would be able to do my whole yard with this. ... show more

  • Hmmmm, mine is actually 72” but I think I got an extra handle segment…
So this is a surprisingly solid rake! It’s supposed to have four handle segments but mine came with 5, making it 72 inches tall! I love that, because I’m 6’3” and it now fits me well, where 60 inches would have actually been a tad short for me. The handle is really well designed; Very strong and yet very light. Quite pleased with the build quality weight ratio! I do worry that the plastic collars on the handle might get brittle in the sun, but they don’t seem to be structural to the rake; they just cover the joints in the metal handle sections. Regardless, I will be very careful to keep this in the shed when I’m not using it. If it was only 60”, the geometry would be off for a tall person; It would cause you to hold it at a steeper angle than desired, making the head too angled relative to the ground. For that reason I would NOT recommend it for anybody over 6ft tall. I definitely got lucky with the extra handle section in my box. Personally I think they should sell them in an extra tall version for a couple extra dollars; I would love it if that was a more common option among garden tools. The tines are fairly wide on this one, but not exceedingly so. Just not a rake for finer work if that’s what you’re after. SUMMARY: Geometry favors users under 6ft tall. Rake head should be angled an extra 5 degrees out from the handle in my opinion. This handle design seems to be very good and should be the standard for mailed/shipped garden handles. I do worry that the plastic collars might be a weak link in the sun’s UV. Overall a good rake. It barely gets 5 stars from me. ... show more

  • really claws through unlike other rakes
You KNOW the tines on this rake are going to do the job when you see them arrive with individual protection! I am short 5 foot tall gal and I do not have a thatch problem. I have a need to fill in bare spots in the lawn and the rake we have barely scratches the surface. The last time I spot filled I could still see seed lying on top of the shallow indents from the tines of our old rake. And the old rake has no edge to level and smooth over when the job is done. It's a joy that this manufacturer realizes that people come in all different sizes. I have struggled all my life with long garden tools, and the ability to use something my size permits me to work more effectively, with better leverage. All you have to do is add or subtract sections of the handle to customize the rake to your needs. I never thought I would look forward to scruffing up the bare spots and seeding them, but now I do. Those times are fairly sharp with no way to protect them while the rake is in the garage or shed. I took a pool noodle, cut off the length of the tines and slit it lengthwise. Now I just pop the noodle protector over the tines. ... show more
