I used it to clear 5 cubic tons of mulch from my driveway in less than a day. When I ordered the mulch I wanted it delivered because I was sure it wouldn't go in my Honda Civic, even if I filled the car to the roof, the trunk and the engine compartment. Did I mention I'd measured carefully and figured I only needed 3 tons of mulch? The nursery said, "5 tons is the minimum". I said, "Okay, just let me know when it's coming. I'll move my car out of the garage and park it in the street." They said okay. They delivered the mulch with a dump truck and it was LOADED with a massive amount of mulch. I said to just put it by the maple tree because a good deal of mulch was destined for the driveway shrubbery bed. The driver came with the mulch and dumped it on the driveway per my personal instruction with hand-waving and hollering to the driver backing this big old truck loaded with a mess of mulch. He gave me some good advice about mulching by the maple tree, then he left. My car was still in the street and wouldn't work for driving over this massive pile of mulch! I had a problem and I needed what we used to call a pitchfork when moving hay loaded with manure. I didn't have manure I had mulch and I needed a tool like this garden tool to move the mulch by the maple tree so I could put my car in the garage by the end of the day. Because it was clabberin' up to rain cats and dogs. It was time to order THIS garden tool. And you know what? I put it to good use. It filled up my plastic wheelbarrow in no time flat. The leverage was awesome (and I'm a tall fellow with a gimpy back and mulch is heavy, even without any manure or moisture.) And the workmanship was superb. So far my new spading fork has done very well for me, although it is heavier than my old one, which I wore out. I canโ€™t really speak to durability as I havenโ€™t used it for an extended period of time, but it appears solidly built, and I expect it to last a good long time.

Well, let me tell you about my experience with the Garden Fork Heavy Duty Pitchfork. I was so excited to receive this tool in the mail, as I had just moved into a new home with a large yard that was in desperate need of some TLC. When I first pulled the pitchfork out of the packaging, I have to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed. The handle was a little shorter than I had expected, and the overall weight of the tool was a bit lighter than I had hoped for. However, I decided to give it a chance and put it to work in my garden. The first thing I tried to do was turn over some soil to prepare it for planting. Well, let's just say that this pitchfork was not up to the task. The tines were too short and too thin, and they bent easily under the weight of the soil. It was like trying to dig with a toy fork! I quickly realized that this pitchfork was not meant for heavy-duty gardening work. However, I did find one use for it that was quite entertaining. My neighbor has a small dog that loves to dig holes in my yard, and I've been looking for a way to deter him from doing so. So, I started using the pitchfork to make the holes in the yard look a little less appealing to the little guy. I would stick the pitchfork in the ground and wiggle it around a bit, making it look like a giant monster was living in the hole. And you know what? It actually worked! The dog stopped digging in my yard altogether. Overall, I would give this pitchfork a 2 out of 5 stars. It's not great for actual gardening work, but it is excellent for scaring away mischievous dogs. So if you're in the market for a tool that can do both, then this might just be the perfect pitchfork for you!
