runs big, so i wish i had gotten the medium instead. i usually size up on sweaters, which tends to work out. but it didn't, in this case. i could try washing it and drying it on hot and seeing if it will sufficiently shrink for me (all cotton), but it could very well be treated in a manner that minimizes shrinkage. so i think i'd rather leave it intact, and with all the tags on it, and since it's such a nice sweater, pass it on to somebody on whom it will fit properly. they'll definitely be happy with it. it's clearly a well made garment. the knit and the stitching are top-notch, and there isn't a single loose thread or weak spot anywhere on this good quality product. the ribbing is more prominent and visible than i anticipated (based on the pics). so just know that. it's not a problem --looks fine. it's just a bit different from what i was expecting. i'm not a gap kinda guy, but this sweater is classier and dressier than their typical fare, plus it's 100% cotton. so i thought i'd try it out. the one thing i wish were different on it is that the hem and cuffs don't really have any elasticity. they hang loose, rather than having some spring, and tightening when worn, to be form-fitting and close off. i prefer that, and i think it's a cleaner look. but for most people, i don't think this would be an issue. it's just an aspect of how this nice, stylish, heavy sweater is styled, and designed to be worn. if i had ordered my actual size, i would be wearing it happily.

I love this sweater, but it runs a little big. I normally buy a large sweater in the Amazon Essentials brand, and thought I could do the same with this Gap sweater, but nope…too big : ( Maybe Amazon Essentials runs small? This sweater feels very well made with a good weight to it, and very comfortable to wear (not itchy at all). It will be great here where I live with the winter coming as it's a very warm sweater, and even if too big, It'll be good to lounge around the house in. My wife was worried it would be too white, but when she saw it was more of a cream color she was happy and that it was the color I ordered. I love the color. It is a little big, but because I can't exchange it, I will try and shrink it a little to try and get it more my size. Regardless of how shrinking it turns out, I will definitely be buying another, just in a medium instead of large…5 Stars

The first thing I noticed when I pulled it on was the feel. It's got a really satisfying, substantial weight to it, but it’s not heavy in a suffocating way. It just feels like actual quality knitwear, not one of those flimsy sweaters that loses its shape after one wash. The material, which I think is a cotton blend on my label, is soft right out of the bag, no initial scratchiness which is always a pet peeve of mine with new wool or even some cotton pieces. The ribbing is what makes it stand out. It's not a subtle texture; it's quite pronounced, giving it a much more premium and less basic look than a flat crewneck. It really holds its form through the chest and shoulders, which is great because I hate that saggy look. Fit-wise, I'd say it runs true to size, maybe slightly relaxed. I’m usually a Large, and the Large hits me right at the hip with a comfortable amount of room—perfect for layering over a tee, or even a collared shirt for a smarter look. The cuffs and hem are well-banded; they don't ride up, but they also don't cut off your circulation, a solid balance. My only small critique, and this is minor, is the neckline. It’s a true crewneck, which I like, but if I wear a button-down underneath, the collar points need a little extra effort to tuck neatly. It's snug enough that it keeps its shape, but a touch more space would make layering a collared shirt totally effortless. Overall, it’s a versatile staple. I’ve worn it over a white t-shirt with dark jeans for a coffee run and dressed it up a bit with chinos for a casual office day. It’s held up great through three washes so far—no pilling or shrinking, which is the true test for a sweater in this price range. If you’re looking for a dependable, textured sweater that looks more expensive than it is, this one's a solid go-to. I'm genuinely considering getting the 'Heather Grey' next.

This is a very well made sweater, from the color to the thread, exactly what I would expect from Gap. It has a really nice weight to it, so it will be good for Fall or Winter. My husband says it’s really comfortable, and it fits him nicely. He’s around 6’1” and usually wears a Tall XL so I got him an XL. It was really large when it was first recieved, but it shrunk quite a bit so now I’d say it’s a perfect XL, and could even pass for a TXL. We washed it on normal cycle and machine dried, and the picture is from fresh out of the dryer. I’ve owned many Gap Brand items, for my kids and myself, and I know they only get better with age. As long as he doesn’t paint the house with it on. To me, it has a more casual look to it, but that may be because my husband doesn’t really dress up. I could see this being more formal with some nice khakis or slacks. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality and look of this sweater, it will be worn often!
