I got this GangMei tool cart because I need more storage for tools in my home garage. I've run out of space in my aging Craftsman 26" tool chest. I don't want to get rid of my Craftsman tool chest for sentimental reasons and I don't want to spend $500 or more for a larger tool chest. This tool chest seemed like a relatively inexpensive option to help meet my needs. Overall I like this tool chest, however I do have some concerns about it. First the concerns… The tool cabinet comes well packaged. It is flat packed and it includes instructions and all the tools needed to assemble it. However I am concerned about how long the cabinet will last because it is screwed together with metal screws. It is solid for now, but will the screws work themselves loose over time? My other tool chest is welded together and it is as solid today as it was when it was made over 30yrs ago. I understand this is not a high end cabinet, so this is only a minor concern. I had a couple of issues with quality assurance… One of the wheel attachment holes on the floor panel of the cabinet was missing the threaded piece to screw in a screw - so one wheel is attached with 3 screws instead of 4 screws. Also the screws to attach the pegboard to the top of the cabinet were too small to adequately attach the pegboard. When I used the provided screws to attach the pegboard, the pegboard was very loose. I ended up using some larger sheet metal screws I had left over from another project to attach the pegboard to the top of the cabinet. Other than the concerns above, this tool cabinet is nicer than I thought it would be - especially for the price. The cart was relatively easy to assemble. The instructions were fairly good. The pieces were labeled well and the provided tools were adequate. It even came with a pair of cloth gloves to protect your hands. (I didn't use the gloves. My hands were unprotected with no issues.) The cabinet finish is good and the panels feel fairly solid. The drawers are nice and deep. They will be great for storing wrenches or socket sets. The drawers are easy to open and close. The cabinet doors are nice - although I wish the left door didn't have a lip attached to it so that the right door has to be opened first and closed last. I would rather be able to open either door at any time. The area inside the cabinet doors is nice and roomy. There is one shelf inside and its height is adjustable. To protect the drawers and shelves I purchased tool box drawer liner material separately, cut it to fit, and placed it in the drawers and on the cabinet shelves. The wheels are nice and they roll easily. On the cart I received, all four wheels rotate and have wheel locks on them. The cabinet is very easy to move around or you can lock the wheels so it stays in place. Overall this is a nice tool cabinet.     • Spacious, Can be Assembled by One Person
I needed a large, mobile storage solution for my small apartment, and while this isn't stylish it is an affordable and functional option. It was surprisingly easy to assemble - I was able to put it together by myself in about an hour. I recommend using a power screwdriver. It's spacious and the shelves are adjustable so you can customize it to your needs. The wheels work well, smooth motion and no noise, and even fully loaded I'm able to move it. The outer surface is magnetic, so you can put up photos, a dry erase board, etc. I also attached some command hooks and they had adhered well to hold light items. The only thing I wish were different is that the doors can only be closed fully by turning the lock. There is no separate latch mechanism allowing you to secure the doors in a closed position. Without the lock the doors just sort of rest against each other and are not flush to the frame (e.g. if you view them from the side you can see they V outward slightly in the middle where they meet). This means you need to use the key to lock it every time you move it, or you'd need to lock it if it were in a garage and you wanted to keep animals and the elements out, which is a little annoying if you don't otherwise have a need for it to be locked. ... show more

Overall, this a good and useful tool cart for medium duty applications. It arrived extremely well packaged with all of the contents well protected from shipping damage. The steel stampings are somewhat light gage but are of good quality and fit together surprisingly well. The finish is good but not perfect. The casters are heavy duty and more than adequate for a cabinet of this size. The full extension drawer slides appear to be robust but slide a bit stiffly. Assembly was very straightforward with parts fitting together surprisingly well (for stamped steel parts, that is). The instructions are very simple and plain, but very clear and easy to follow. The corner brackets with cap style screws gives the main body of the cabinet a very robust industrial look, but looks can be deceiving. The brackets are just lightweight plastic, the cap screws are just sheet metal screws, and the parts just but together with no interlocking connection (i.e.; the joint is totally dependent on the plastic brackets). This is adequate for a medium duty application like this, but an interlocking metal to metal joint would be much preferable (and much sturdier in the long run). Almost all of the parts are held together with sheet metal screws, so you need to be cautious not to overtighten and strip them out (I did strip out one of the corner joint screws, but was able to repair by threading an M5 nut onto the screw from inside the cabinet). The cart includes a "pegboard" style upright panel that I did not install since (for my application) I felt that it would only get in the way. Also, the square holes with large spacing in the panel will not accommodate standard pegboard hooks, so you are pretty much limited to the three that are provided, further limiting its usefulness. Overall, I do find that the cart is extremely useful and have already loaded it with good collection of tools and supplies. It is reasonably priced and I do recommend this cabinet for a home garage or workshop storage, but I would not recommend it for heavy duty use in an industrial setting. ... show more
