  • 94 K1500 4X4 Love These
Style: 43163
94 K1500 4X4 Stock, no lift, no leveling. Great Shock. Lifted my saggy truck back up at least 1.5", look cool, simple install. Before you screw up your ride with expensive leveling and lift kits, put a pair of these cool shocks on. I recommend taking a ratchet strap and cutting off the strap and then cutting off the hook on the remaining strap. So you just have the ratchet and the strap (no hooks). Then tie the strap back onto the ratchet and bingo you have a hookless strap that you can tighten up the shock with. In my rig it was even easy to install the strap after the shock was attached to the upper bolts. Compress the shock and install the lower bolt, then remove the strap. If you have your truck properly jacked up, you only need to compress 1/2 inch or less. Makes it safer and easier. If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it. Shocks are great, look good, ride good. It's a stiffer ride, but it's on a truck. I love them and the price is very reasonable. ... show more

  • Great
Style: 43181
Sits higher in the rear now, almost an inch give or take. Way less bouncing in the rear, solid quality too. Significantly stiffer than stock

Installation easy. Just drop your diff and jack up the bed by the tow hook. Make installing them way easier. Hauled 2 scoops of 3/4 gravel for a garage I was doing and it pass with flying colors. Did this all day 2 scoops at a time for a combine of 10 scoops. If you’re looking for an affordable set of shocks that actually work when carrying heavy loads i recommend them. Also a smooth ride. ... show more

  • Enhanced Stability and Control for my 1996 Ford Ranger
Style: 34076
I recently upgraded my 1996 Ford Ranger with these coil-over shocks from Amazon, and the results have been impressive overall. The fit was spot-on, instantly transforming the handling dynamics of my truck. One of the most noticeable improvements was the enhanced stability. The coil-over shocks provided a significant boost in control at higher speeds, making my Ranger feel more planted and responsive on the road. The steering and stopping capabilities were notably improved, contributing to an overall safer and more enjoyable driving experience. However, there were a couple of aspects that caught my attention. While the fit was excellent, the ride did become a bit rougher. It's a trade-off for the increased stability, and I found it acceptable for the performance gains. Another concern was the plastic coil spring retainer. It didn't instill the same confidence as the other components. Although it didn't affect the performance, I would have preferred a more robust material for added durability. In terms of the driving experience, the upgrade undeniably made my truck feel newer. The control and responsiveness added a modern touch to the driving dynamics, and I appreciated the overall improvement in handling. In conclusion, these coil-over shocks are a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to breathe new life into their older Ford Ranger. The noticeable improvements in stability, control, and the truck's overall feel make it a solid choice. Despite a slightly rougher ride and the plastic retainer, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. I would recommend these shocks to fellow Ranger owners seeking an upgrade for a more engaging and secure driving experience. ... show more

  • Greatly improved ride.
Style: 43181
Most vendors say that this will not work on a 2wd but I took a chance and gave it a shot. I put these on there Saturday and found them to be perfect. My truck has a cap on it so the back always rides lower than the front. This has leveled out the truck. The shocks fit correctly and work very well. Would highly recommend installing these. ... show more

I had one shock fail. They warranted it. Three days later I had a new set of shocks, very polite people to work with, and assisted me in a timely manner.

  • Great shocks!
Style: 43181
Great shocks for the money! When hauling our 6200 lb travel trailer, only causes a 2” drop of the rear of my 1500. Easy to install, even fully extended and it being the 1st time ever changing shock on my own! (Just jack the vehicle up until shock bolt holes match up with mounting holes, bolt down and go!). ... show more

  • It works well with some modifications.
Style: 34051
So I had to do some sketchy stuff to get this in a 1972 El Camino. It was "approved to fit" but it didn't. The problem was the coil and its housing hit the lower control arm and just barely didn't fit. So what I did was ground a flat area on the mount on both sides and removed the spring. So I was able to thread the spring in and then the shock but couldn't get the spring retainer clip in because it was to high in the mount without access. So I had to get really sketchy. I used a spring compressor to compress the spring down (big no-no) and zip stripped it. With it decreased in height, I could put the retainer clip in and snip the zip strips. It released with a bang but everything lined up (luckily). So I was able to install it. The one spring sits pretty close to the suspension compression spring. But they did install. With some modifications that I should have had to make. The lower mount for the spring should be removable and not the top. Oh well. I could have just left the spring off but I figured it might be cool and add a little benefit. ... show more
