Old school barber scent. They used to put a little on after they shaved your neck. Light smell, you won't run anyone out of the office with overbearing smell

I have been using the 16oz bottle for a month or so. I liked it so much that I purchased a gallon jug. This gallon that I received smelled like a watered down rubbing alcohol. The color in the 16oz bottle was a much darker color. After putting some on out of the jug it still smelled like rubbing alcohol. At no time after dry down, did it give any scent whatsoever. The aftershave in the jug, in no way, resembles the aftershave in the 16oz bottle. So, take it for what it's worth, I really like the aftershave in the 16oz bottle. The company refunded my money without incident... 03-21-18: I have reordered another gallon jug of this aftershave, just in case the gallon of watered down alcohol on the first one was a bad batch... 3-25-18: I just received the new gallon jug of this aftershave, it's exact to the scent and color of the 16oz bottle. I ordered this from a different company and it arrived in pristine condition. Upon opening this jug, I smelled no raw alcohol, just the mild scent that the 16oz bottle has. The color in the jug is the same darker color that's in the 16oz bottle. So, on this new jug I give a 5 star rating, AS I GAVE THE 16OZ BOTTLE. I had an uncle Matt, everyone needs a person in their life like my uncle Matt. He always had a fresh scent coupled with a good nature. As uncles go he was perfect with a bit of mischief on the side. Gabels was his after shave and he purchased it from his barber in 16oz bottles. Whenever I splash on Gabels Bay Rum I enjoy the compliments from not only my wife but from friends as well. Today when someone asks about the fragrance I give them a small bottle filled with with the clean scent of Bay rum and great memories of a much missed uncle. PS. I bought the Gallon size. Gregg

I gave up trying to find bay rum with the scent of my grandfathers for under $60. I saw this and, after reading the reviews decided to give it a try, thinking well, if I don't like it, I can use it to wash my truck or the dog for that price. Was I surprised! It's not grandpa's but has a scent of bay rum with a hint of lemon. And, best of all it is super refreshing to splash on and doesn't leave an overpowering smell. It just FEELS GOOD and I love it! And best of all, my wife likes it!

Used this cologne at the local YMCA years ago and loved the tropical scent. The scent is very tropical. Reminds me of Kauaii. Found some years later in small bottles at Walgreen's store. Went back for a second bottle , unfortunately they don't carry it anymore. So glad I found it here! Great company, and I worked retail for 15 years so when I say great product, service and price you better believe it! I called the company when product arrived, as there was no foil protective seal under the cap. The rep assured me the product is packed that way and safe. Also the level of alcohol in the product ensures its very sterile. This is the ONLY cologne I use, almost daily! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself and don't think about it just buy the gallon and 1small bottle of Gabels (for refilling) and your set for a few birthdays to come.
