  • Updated - a great experience with the company Updated - a great experience with the company
**** Update **** Gaahleri has done a fantastic job at ensuring the customer experience is a good one. After my original review, they contacted me to help troubleshoot and offered some replacement parts to improve my experience. These were based off of my key pain points and were shipped quickly to me. After replacing the parts, I noticed some improvement, but the needle would continuously get stuck and sounded "sandy" meaning there was too much friction internally, a factory defect. I contacted them once more, and without hesitation they offered to just send a full replacement once they had more units in stock (they had sold out). Once the unit was available again, I was sent one out and gave this a second shot. And what a difference! Ehile I still don't like the shape of the trigger (I highly recommend replacing with a T type from the Mobius series), the new unit was incredibly smooth to handle after a bit of initial setup (lubrication and some trigger exercises to break it in a little). The airbrush feels very natural and offered great precision in how much paint I could let out. The needle is super easy to clean up, and the cup does a great job at making cleanup simple and easy. Overall, I would give this one a 4.5/5, however the company behind it deserves the extra.5 and I'm happy to give it to them for the follow up and hassle free replacement. I've attached a couple of pictures of some figures I've painted with this airbrush. **** Original Review **** I've used other Gaahleri air brushes over the past couple of years, with my most recommended one being the GHAD-39 given the great price and the fact that it goes for sales as low as $30. I've got a Mobius 03 that I have only really used for some finer details, and when the seeker came out I expected it to land somewhere in between the GHAD-39 and MOBIUS-03 in terms of handling and performance. My first impression was that the action trigger felt rough when compared to my other two. This model does not come with lubricant, but I already have some I use for maintenance for my other airbrushes so I used a bit and kept running the trigger until it got better. The overall finish of the metal is pretty good, there are some rough spots throughout but nothing terrible, though I don't think it's much of an improvement over their other entry model. Also, this comes with a single, larger cup, and it's slightly more inclined so my finger bumps here and there but I'll eventually work my way around that. I've used this now a few times for painting a few different models, and while uniformity and paint distribution is really good, it somehow feels like I'm not in full control over the airbrush. The trigger still isn't as smooth as my GHAD-39, and triggering the air flow is more of an on/off thing as opposed to a gradual push down I've groen used to. There's an added "click" feeling to triggering the air which ai haven't gotten used to, and the trigger cannot go all the way back without it automatically engaging the air flow. This makes it more difficult to clean between colors as I usually pull the trigger back the whole way without engaging the full airflow to move the cleaner around a bit. Now this trigges the air causing things to spill if I attempt to clean how I normally do. Overall I have to say I'm a little confused with this air brush. It's good but it also does away with a few of the things that makes me recommend their air brushes to friends. I don't know if I got an unrefined unit or if this is what we're moving towards with their brushes. Quite frankly, I would recommend getting the GHAD-39 over this one given the price and the level of control you can get from it. ... show more

  • Right tool for right job.
Color: Advanced Series Seeker 03 & 05
Great tool, with 0.5mm setup all the tough and dirty work is not a problem. Priming, basecoating, non actilic paint and thicker stuff. All great. Tho you must understand that for using that agressive taper to fulles your compressor must be capable to push a lot of air. Im working primarily with 45psi and higher. Thinner 0.3mm setup is fine, but for thinner work gaahleri have better suted brushes. ... show more

  • Game changer in airbrush products!
I originally gave this brush a bad review because I couldn't find it on their website and thought I bought a "discontinued" product. I WAS WRONG!!! I actually got this brush delivered before it's official release date! It has a paint flow adjustment knob at the very end of the brush. Great for setting the paint flow for projects that require consistent paint application, especially on larger applications. This brush is almost exactly identical to my Harder and Steenbeck Silverline that I've been using for over 10 years. Except this has a 6 channel nozzle that does atomize better then the older Silverline. The "floating" nozzle set up has been used by higher quality brushes for awhile (H&S) and is MUCH easier and faster for quick cleaning and needle/ nozzle changes with no tools. So far, it's right in line with my H&S Silverline and Evolution Cr Plus. For this price point, compared to the Silverline that cost me over $100 over ten years ago, this is a no brainer. Best money I've spent on an airbrush yet! Spare parts for my H&S brushes are VERY hard to get, this brush has spares in stock, in the US! I'm a fan of their paints as well. Gaahleri has changed the price points for top quality, up to date designs available. I have to admit, Gaahleri is a REAL game changer in the airbrush world. ... show more
