I bought this as a replacement for an old umbrella on my push cart while golfing. This umbrella gives quite a large amount of shade & rain protection. At 60" diameter (the 68" it states is the circumference of the actual canopy) it gives a wide area of shade from the sun. One of the nice perks to this oversized umbrella is that since it is so wide it makes the shaft longer which allows me to walk out from under it without ducking & in 6'1" tall. Being higher up, it also allows me to see playing partners shots easier without crouching/ducking as well. The only thing that I've been concerned about so far is how much the canopy flexes if the wind gusts up & the plastic spines under the canopy worry me with how much they move. None of them have broken, yet, but it would have been nice to see those made of metal. ... show more

Received today. To those who stated their umbrella smelled like Forest Gump's Buttocks, mine did not!! I had previously owned a UV Blocker 54" UV Umbrella and it initially smelled like fish bootyhole for a long time. I Sprayed it with Febreze, then washed it with my waterhose and soap, left it out open in the sun to dry out - it eventually started to smell OK. This new 68" GFree UV Umbrella I received today had no smell, opened smoothly, nothing broke and it was the right size in which I ordered. Sorry for those who received an inferior product, but I'm Happy 😊!!!! Now let's see how long it last..... ... show more

I just got my solar umbrella. I live in Florida where the heat index is 100. I tested it right away for UV protection and I could feel it was blocking the rays. It is made very sturdy which accounts for a little heavier weight. I'm accustomed to this with quality umbellas. The nice feature is that this Golf umbrella has multi uses, i.e., at the beach, everyday use. I even walked over to our centrally located mail box, whereas normally, in this heat, I would have driven. As for any smell, I found it is slight and will dissipate. I bought the largest size for shade and UV protection while walking my dog in the afternoon heat. I'm able to cover my whole body, including my feet (most of the time). It's lighter than I expected. It seems very sturdy. I think the main rod is made of fiberglass. When it's windy it can be difficult to keep control of, but it's only inverted a couple of times when the gusts were really strong. This umbrella is sturdy and provides great sun coverage. I opened it and was not able to see any light seep through. My only dislike is that it has a strong zoo like smell. I had to return it because the smell made me nauseous.

This is a uv blocking umbrella that comes in its own case. It is as advertised and better. The canopy is solid and wind resistant. The handle is thick and the grip is soft.
