  • Gates vs oem
It's funny that some people say these are junk when Polaris gets their belts from gates!!! ( owned). Update.... I have now had this belt in my 2017 xp4 1000 eps for a few very hard intense rides. After initial belt break-in I noticed right away that it was grabbing harder than the oem belt. When you compare the two side by side you can see the difference in thickness. The only complaint I have is a little chirping sound under cold acceleration or super hard acceleration. But it hasn't slipped yet and has rocked some gnarly sand hills. Good belt for the money in my opinion!!! (another update) almost 500 miles on this belt now, and all i can say is... wow! these are bulletproof!!! mud, sand, rocks, i ride very hard and this belt is holding up to all i can give it!!! dont think about it, just buy it!!! Another update! Now well over 1000 miles on this belt and still going strong!!! I have punished this belt with everything you can imagine and still good. The only reason I could see others having issues with it is that they don't break them in properly or don't warm them up properly before each hard ride. I always warm up the belt with a few high revs in park before I drive. And during the first 20 miles I varied speeds and didn't floor it. I will buy this belt again, that is, if it ever fails...... in the photo is my rzr and my buddy on the right with the can am runs a gates belt as well. We were doing 4wd doughnuts that day in the sticky mud. Probably the hardest you can be on a belt. Just buy one already!!!!! ... show more

  • Warranty
Bought the belt for rzr 1000 and it was a bad belt! Didn’t last that long after braking it in! They warranty it and replaced it! 5 star

  • I had high hopes
I bought this belt 7/2023 and put it in my emergency box I carry in my 2020 XP4 1000. I decided to change out my belt due to not knowing how old the belt was, being I had bought my RZR used. The old belt didn’t particularly look bad. I just wanted to be sure with a new belt installed. I took it easy the 1st 10 miles varying the speed and load. I continue driving not putting too much load on the belt. I went to climb a steep incline in low range four wheel drive. Got about 20 yards up and bang, the belt blew with only 21 miles on it. Luckily I had saved the old belt, I field swapped it out and continued my ride. I don’t think I’ll be buying another Gates belt for this RZR. Update I was looking back through some of my reviews and came across a review about a Gates belt that I had bought for an older RZR 900 that I use to own. I’d given that belt a one star review also. In my review I had stated it failed in less than 300 miles after replacing a belt with 5000 miles on it that was still in service. ... show more

  • Great belt for the price
I was hesitant to buy a non-OEM belt but after reading the good reviews I went ahead and purchased the belt. It is so much better than the OEM belt and at half the price. It eliminated the jerky feeling that you get when in reverse and in or just starting to accelerate. I’ve always assumed that was just a Polaris issue, but come to find out it’s the Polaris belt that was causing the problem. 2017 Polaris RZR 1000 high lifter Now after putting over 600 miles on the Gates belt I can say that it is so much better than the OEM... ... show more

  • Fits 2016 RZR XP1000 just like stock
Quick feedback - installed on 2016 RZR XP1000. Fit is identical to OEM. Performance seems identical to OEM, and you would never know the difference. With only 5 hours on it, no feedback yet on longevity. Will report later if any concerns. We are recreational trail riders, so it will not see too much aggressive action. ... show more
