I purchased the 40 inch, 71 feet fencing to keep groundhogs and rabbits from eating my plants. I ended up using only 50% of the fencing for the area pictured. I am 72 and installed it by myself. I did have to do some leveling of the ground but it was fairly easy to install. However, the poles that are inserted into the ground are not long enough to stabilize the panels. If the end of the poles where another 6 to 8 inches, it would be a great improvement. I am in the process of adding support along the bottom to improve its stability. FYI, because my flower garden is near my septic system, I do not want to invest in permanent fencing that may need to be removed in the future. Additionally, I am planning on leaving the fence up over the winter. I may regret that decision but time will tell. Hopefully, it will keep the critters from using my garden as their private salad bar. Edited August 18, 2023. I am amazed at the speed at which this item came! The box was damaged and there was some bending and scratching on the panels and posts. I am going to try to repair on my own as it had to be used right away, plus it would be an absolute hassle to try to repackage and return this thing. I do believe that I will need to add some reinforcements or my dogs will be able to knock it down if they see a chipmunk. ... show more

I say very durable for a couple good reasons. One, it's outlasted a few good downpours of rain without loosening the poles you tap in ground. The garden area gets very saturated but poles keep in tact! #2, we have 2 large very active German Shepherds who like to race around our 14' pool ( not shown, but it's to the left of fenced garden). They crashed into it after I first put it up, not realizing that have a new obstical in their path ( no worries, they weren't hurt) nor the fence. They now know it's there, & haven't crashed into since. And as you see, the green beans, cucumbers cilantro are nicely growing! If it wasn't for this fence, it would be a mud pit ( like you see outside the fence to the right) and I'd have those veggies growing all over the lawn as the youngest ( 14 months old) still loves digging. This I found out after she so thoughtfully rearranged the tomato & zucchini garden, which led the need for a fenced garden lol! We may just buy another couple, tear up that mud area & lay down more garden space. This is situated at far end of yard & dogs still have a huge park of a yard for them 😃 ... show more

We just got a puppy and wanted to let him run around the yard but there is a small area of access to our driveway. Short of building an actual gated fence on our rental property, this seemed like the best solution. As a bonus, it doubles as a fully enclosed puppy pen for our little pup until he is big enough to explore the full yard. It's not a big yard, it's small-medium sized, but he is still exploring his world and becomes distracted easily. At only 15-weeks-old, he has the attention span of a gnat, so setting up a hexagonal pen to start helps him focus on a small area of the grass to do his business. Once he's older and in a good routine, we'll be setting this up between the yard and driveway so that our back yard will be fully enclosed as a whole and the fact that the connecting rods double as spikes into the soft ground will facilitate this nicely. With six sections, the stand-alone pen is the perfect size for our 10lb chickie nuggie and long enough to span the distance between the garage and the house where the driveway connects to the yard when that time comes. I can't speak to the durability when put to the test of a much larger dog but so far, all of his attempts to escape have failed. I will report back with the daring tale if this changes. ... show more

We have two young labrador retrievers and live in a neighborhood that does not allow fences. They are good dogs but still a bit impulsive if they want to say hello to people and other dogs so we always had to have them tethered when they were outside. The FXW garden fence has allowed us to enclose a portion of our yard so that they can have some freedom to roam in and out of the house. It has made our lives easier and the dog's lives more pleasurable. The fence is very easy to set up and is sturdy enough. My only complaint is that the poles that hold the fence panels in place could go deeper into the ground but overall this has not been an issue. Very fast and easy to install. This is not a heavy duty fence however. It does look nice and works as planned. I can remove a section to get lawn mower through and replace it in moments.
