The 5 tier ladder shelf is exactly as pictured, the dimensions listed are accurate, and it had all its parts for assembly. As far as assembly goes, this took me about an hour to do on my own, it may go quicker with an extra set of hands. I liked how the directions were thorough, but make sure to read them as there are a few things to note as you go through to make sure all parts are correct. I also liked how they bagged the screws with the Allen wrenches needed, so it was easy to know which part needed what tool. The metal is thin, and the wood is a composite, but once assembled the shelf is really sturdy. I also like that it has adjustable feet at the bottom in case your floor is a bit uneven. The two drawers at the bottom are fabric, but the wood grain detail matches fairly well and they are great as additional storage space. ... show more

This bookshelf is designed to be compact and thin. The bookshelf is tall and narrow and can only hold small decorative items. The shelf is more decorative than it is useful. The cloth drawers are small and fit small lightweight items only. The unit was easy to build and looks very nice. This is great for small places that need something not too bulky or overbearing. This requires very little space and can easily be placed in a bathroom or hallway without taking up too much room. The shelf does not look cheap or fragile. I'm moving soon, and I needed a nice shelf. This actually sits perfectly in my living room. I mostly have books on it, but also some plants and other decorations. It's also really nifty that this has two drawers in addition to the shelves. It's relatively easy to put together and sturdy, but metal is heavy. I would absolutely recommend having another person help because this thing is heavy! But, it's much easier to put together than anything you'd get from IKEA. ... show more

We both built the shelving within 40-45 minutes. Telling the difference between the long metal. Stick sections three and four. Was slightly difficult because after I opened up the box a few weeks ago, one set of 3 and one set of 4 spilled out of their individually wrapped bag. They weren't taped shut, unlike the wooden boards. Also to note the largest wooden board had protective plastic corners, which was really nice to see. Much care was put into packaging. It was packaged very well with styrofoam. From a distance the screws on the backside of each peg was hidden enable to appear discreet. The feet of the shelf were screwed on at the beginning of set up. You can adjust them just in case your hardwood floor or if there's a rug underneath is unlevel (which ours was it was rocking a bit. A quick fix to unscrew a "screw foot" which will prevent from shifting/ rocking back-and-forth. Also, you can anchor a screw into the wall and zip tie the shelf to the wall enable to prevent from tipping if you live with small children, pets, or inclined to having earthquakes. ... show more

I really like this shelf, it was very easy to put together with great instructions. Took about 45 minutes to get the whole thing set up. I didn’t read close enough so I wasn’t able to put the reinforcement bars on the back, but that was just user error by me. The unit itself was a little more slender than I anticipated, but it still is a great shelf to put books and knick knacks. I love the two drawers on the bottom, they have a decent amount of room for extra storage! Overall a great addition to any room with easy and user-friendly setup. A nice looking 5 tier shelf system. It has a metal frame. The shelves are a composite wood material with a glued on design paper. The 2 drawers are a felt fabric and the handles are plastic. Once I put it together it has a sturdy feel to it. The cross bracing helps keep the shelf from flexing sideways. The instructions are easy to follow which are it easy to put together.
