Received clearly used item. Not only visible scratches but also a layer of dust on all pieces, the feet were clearly on a dusty hardwood floor. Looked like a floor model. Hoping that the replacement is new. Replacement also used, scratched and full of dust.

The product pics claim an internal shelf height of 9.6", which is *barely* big enough for a full-size hardcover book. Unfortunately, only the very top shelf actually hits this measurement. The 2 bottom shelves are just under 9.5". meaning the book and Dust Jacket are scraping along the top of the shelf when you slide the book in. It would soon rip the tops of my books to shreds keeping them in here. Also, I cant believe how low quality this is. This is no better than what I can buy at Wallyworld for twenty bucks. Cheap thin particle board, unlaminated undersides and just looks cheap cheap cheap. All my return options require me to somehow box this back up, which would be a monumental pain given all the nails I just hammered into the back (removal would absolutely cause irreparable damage to the thin cheap particle board too). I think they know this--make it hard to assemble, even harder to disassemble, and most schmucks who wasted their money won't bother with the return. Learn from this schmuck... Stay away from this piece of garbage. ... show more
