I needed a smallish bookcase to fit into the corner of my studio workspace. First of all, it slipped in about as satisfying as an Egyptian builder can possibly get. But it is just enough for a few books and miscellaneous things that I wanted within arm's reach. You can see how it is not very sturdy; the shelves bow ever so slightly. They do post weight limits in the warnings, but the shelves are only kept in by two screws on each side of the shelf. Definitely not for heavy books or other objects. But for the purpose I intended, it works great. It's just a step or two under Ikea-ease of assembly. The parts seem cheap and there's a tad bit of know-how that'll come in useful for putting it together. It doesn't look the best. The particle board is visible on the underside and the fake wood pattern is repeated. From a distance it's not terrible. I got this bookcase on sale for $53.99. I would not advise paying full price for it. ... show more

I bought this little bookshelf for my kids' books to free up some space in their closet. It's very easy to put together as long as you pay attention to what you're doing. I've purchased something similar before and I'm pretty sure I made the same mistake on that one, too. When you're nailing in the back panels, make sure you're getting into the middle of the mdf in the center of the shelf. I missed my mark on one and it bubbled and cracked the vinyl on the shelf itself (second picture). With the price, what it's for, and since I don't plan on it being a family heirloom, I'm not too worried about it. But it is annoying and something for someone else to be aware of. It was packed ok in the box, but there was a little damage to the front corner like the vinyl "wood" was peeling off (first picture). Not super worried about it for the same reason as above. I'm not sure why it looks so much bigger on top than the bottom in the finished picture, but it's the same all the way down. Also the white flecks are pieces of styrofoam I haven't cleaned off yet. All in all, I would buy again if I needed a cheap bookshelf. ... show more

Bought this to store my new puppy's supplies, and I got to say... I'm pleasantly surprised. This shelf near perfectly matches my dining room table, and was pretty easy to assemble. Now for the cons, I have to say that the back of the shelf was pretty hard to nail in and caused me to slightly damage the rest of the shelf. Also, I HATE how this shelf didn't include a tool to screw in the screws, since previous furniture that I have ordered from Amazon did include the necessary tools. Also, this shelf is pretty heavy; meaning that so far, it is steady for me and holds my puppy's supplies well. It's nothing amazing, but definitely a good deal for this price. Holds plenty of books and memorabilia fine. I do wish the back was attached a little sturdier. I'm always rearranging my apartment so I've moved this around a lot in the few months since I bought it, and it's still holding up. Perfect for small spaces, & it is a nice shad of gray. I wasn't too happy that the backing was not wide enough to nail properly so unfortunately, I slightly damaged some of the framing while nailing and then decided to nail it together, which was then visible. This was easy to put together and is pretty sturdy. I like the tall bookcases that are not wood because the wider ones - the shelves tend to droop under the weight more. The gray color is very pretty, not too dark.
