  • Good enough for a low budget apartment
Color: White/Green Size: 5-Tier
I actually got three of these green shelves and they seem pretty consistent. I feel like my photos don't do the color justice because it's really a soft light green, and these make it look more like a sharp yellowish-green. I do like the color. And as others have mentioned, it is a bit of a shame that the directions aren't clear about the direction to connect the shelves. I had to reference the photo that showed how all the pieces will attach as well as coming back to this page to see how the colors align in order to make sure I was doing it right (especially in those first steps for the top shelves). They're pretty decent shelves as far as having a good amount of space on each shelf, the height, and being small enough to fit in a small apartment yet actually helpful for storage. The assembly is straightforward if you have experience with these kinds of projects but I had a few concerns. I believe the biggest problem is that it gives you the exact amount of all the pieces, meaning that if some come broken, you're just out of luck. Usually for shelves there will be one extra of most pieces. As shown, I did have a couple come broken and a wooden peg that split when I tried to use the mallet. With all three, I struggled when connecting the top shelves to the bottom shelves. When connecting, the circular metal connectors (I don't recall the exact name for them) are meant to turn 180° to secure the screws. But not a single one on any of them could. It felt like I was going to break the shelf itself, or threatened to strip those connectors. So there's a small gap there on each one, and nothing I tried was able to get them to connect snuggly. That and trying to screw in those black pieces behind the shelf were the hardest parts. It was pretty hard trying to screw into the shelf with no prep hole, with the screwdriver right up against the shelf with no room to hold it well. This shelf should have been really easy to put together (especially for someone like me with a lot of experience assembling furniture), but I ended up having hand cramps a few times. All-in-all they're what I needed so it will be fine. I just have to be careful with the one that has the broken peg since that one will be less safe (especially because it's at the part that can't connect properly). I do suggest getting your own straps to secure these to the wall, especially if you have kids or pets, because they're only stable as long as it doesn't get pushed on. Edit - I forgot to mention that the wood is a bit rough around the edges. The photo shows discoloration on the green, and that part feels really rough. And that is something that was consistent on all the shelves of the three units that I bought. It isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me, but it's something that you should be aware of before making a decision. ... show more

  • Lovely color - damaged upon receipt
Color: White/Green Size: 11-Cube
I ordered 2 of these along with a seven and 2 of the five Furinno bookshelves. Purpose: To store my teenager's clothes more visibly & organized rather than wadded on the floor in piles, in totes, or smushed in a broken dresser. I put together the first one raider easily. Directions are very clear, all pieces revived, and it's reversible so building was relatively easy! One person, about 1 hour. And I'm not very handy. The second one I noticed the corner of Panel A was broken right out of the box. Sucks, but I confirmed the rest of the contents are fine. I assembled everything except that last panel and am waiting for Furinno customer service to send me a replacement panel in 8-10 days. The sooner the better! I do love the color on these shelves. The attention to detail is awesome. I also like that the bookshelf can be turned any direction I desire and still be very sturdy. I'll post final project pics once I'm done. Attached the In-Progress pics for now. Oh, also note: lots of small bits of Styrofoam everywhere. That was just annoying! ... show more

  • Not as hard to assemble as reviews made me believe
Color: White/Pink Size: 5-Cube
I bought 2 of these 5-cube shelf kits, and they look way better than expected. I actually got the pink and the blue and mixed and matched several of the pieces. I read other reviews saying they had problems with L-brackets and other stuff, this was just really simple put in place and screw I did both by myself in like an hour and a half (I do have lots of experience with flat-pack furniture). The models are slightly different, but it was no problem in mixing them. You'll definitely want to use a drill or a screwgun, this would suck to assemble by hand. Every panel except the backing(the backing is colored on one side and unpainted on the other is white on one side and colored on the other (all panels: shelves, interior, exterior) This lets you do some cool stuff, but if you wanted something symmetric, that is simply not possible The shelves work both standing and laying down, I have one upright and one on it's side and it looks pretty good. None of the screws really recessed into the panels and they all stick out a couple of mm but the provided stickers do cover them up super well unless you are looking really close. I did have one screw splinter a shelf but luckily it wasn't too bad and is in the back so it doesn't stand out. My biggest complaint is that they were (both of them!) packed with this styrofoam that was super staticky and disintegrating so there were tons of tiny styrofoam pieces coming out and sticking to everything so plan accordingly. Overall, I am very pleased with these for their purchase price (one was ~20 the other was ~30) ... show more

  • Cute, but you get what you pay for
Color: White/Green Size: 5-Cube
The shelf is cute, and took about 30 minutes to install by myself using a small screwdriver and hammer. I thought the directions were easy to follow, and the mess up was on my part, but it all worked out. There were minor issues with alignment, and in the build I could hear the shelf’s wood creak/crack. This is very much a $30 shelf. I think it looks good, but it isn’t made to move around-where it fits is where it sits. Even after assembly it is shaky (even with the back support). It’ll do for now to hold the toys and books, but it’s not something I can see lasting for years with continued use. I do like it’s small shape-it fits well in my small house, and again, aesthetically it looks great. I love the green-it’s nice and bright ... show more
