I gave it an overall rating of 4 stars because it's not a beginner's board, at least for middle-aged adults, in my opinion, and I'm a beginner. The SUP is constructed very well and easy to inflate, using an electric powered pump. The handpump is basically a backup in case the powered pump quits. The handpump is not easy to maneuver after the initial 6 to 7 psi. Finishing off the pressure to the recommended 15 psi using the handpump is painful, but it's the same with other SUP's made by other manufacturers. The SUP is very light and somewhat narrow resulting in a fast board but presents an unstable platform when standing up on a calm lake. Again, I'm reviewing this from a beginner's perspective. The seat is satisfactory and provides an adequate back support when sitting, a very good option when using in high winds. I would imagine this SUP would be a perfect option for the ocean where most of the board's momentum is provided by the waves, as opposed to a calm lake. I just got this SUP. I've not yet taken it out, as it needs a few tweaks first. I inflated it in my living room. Like many people, I struggled with the pump and gauge. I put so much air into the board I feared it would burst and it was becoming difficult to pump further, yet the gauge didn't budge. I thought it was broken; directions state it won't move until you hit 7-8 psi, but I felt I must be pushing the max. I didn't feel comfortable taking the board out without knowing if it was inflated enough. I bought a separate gauge (~$12) that picks up on lower pressures and it indicated I was only around 5 psi. I was shocked; like I said, it was getting difficult to pump further. I looked up some videos online to see if I was missing something or doing something wrong. I'd actually initially contacted the company's customer service, but rather than answer my question they asked me if I'd like to make a purchase, so that was useless. Anyway, there is apparently supposed to be a lever on manual SUP pumps that you can adjust to make the high pressure pumping easier, but this pump lacks that. I will probably end up buying an electric pump, which will cost at least $40, probably more for a good one. This is not the only challenge. Like other reviews have mentioned, there are issues with the seat. Without somewhere to hook the rear straps the seat is pretty useless, and the hooks for the front straps are awkwardly placed. I bought a pack of 6 additional D rings on adhesive patches for $14 (the rings on the board already are nothing more than this) so that I can position it to my liking and comfort. Also a little inconveniently placed is the cargo net. I bought a set of carabiners for $8 so that I can clamp things a little closer to where I would be when on the board. So, I have spent a little extra on some extras to make the board more to my liking. I got the board for just over $160 on a lightning deal, and the extras I have bought so far have basically cancelled out the discount. Once I buy an electric pump I'll probably be up to near $300. I've looked around, and it doesn't seem like you can buy a board that has it all (seat, ample D rings, electric pump, etc.) for less than that, so I feel like all in all I did alright. One final note is that I bought this board thinking it would be easier and more compact than the inflatable kayak I've been using for a few years. I'm not sure that's true. The pump is over 2 feet tall, and the bag to haul everything in nearly 4' tall. It's not a compact system at all. Still, I've paddleboarded a few times and like it. The SUP will be easier to clean than the kayak, as the kayak has many nooks and crannies that the SUP does not. And, obviously, the kayak only has one option - sitting. On the SUP you can sit, stand, kneel, lie down, do yoga, and probably more. Additionally, in my state my inflatable kayak needs boat registration that must be renewed every three years while an SUP does not. Once I have all the accessories I think I'll need and feel I can inflate it to a safe level I'm sure it will provide years of summer fun. In the long run it will be cheaper and more convenient to have my own than to seek out rentals, at least I hope so! ... show more

Would recommend this company for paddle boards. We’ve wanted to purchase a board for several years and I am thrilled with this purchase. Have been out approx 7 times on several different bodies of water. No complaints. Portable, fairly east to inflate and deflate. Easy to store in convenient bag. We bought 3 different boards so multiple people in our family can go out at one time. We did get a double pump to speed pump time and ease pumping for younger people in the family. We use the pump that came with the boards also. No problems so far. Would recommend inflating at home first and fitting fins before taking out. The plastic is tight and we needed to use a hair dryer to initially get the fins in place. (Thank you You Tube) We did that 2 times before we brought them to the lake. Haven’t had any issues with fitting the fins since. Boards become easier to inflate over time also. (Or we have acclimated :)) We thoroughly dry them overnight on the covered portion of our deck and pack them up for our next adventure. So glad we purchased these! It's been 3 years since I bought this board, so time for a thorough review. The kit has been excellent and served all of my family's purposes. The board inflates and deflates with ease, has held up well to typical child shenanigans (bouncing off of rocks, faces, as well as being utilized as a water trampoline). Build quality is as good, if not better than boards that cost double the price. I rinse the boards and paddles after each use as our equipment sees more salt water than fresh. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this board again and have recommended it to other families we meet at the various locations where we use these toys. My only upgrade to the original set up was a dual stage electric pump...it's a game changer for getting things set up and taken down quicker. Don't forget to take apart your paddles when done and spray some WD-40 or waterproof grease at the connection points in the tubes, trust me on this. We are out on the water about every weekend with this as we reside in San Diego. ... show more
