Easy to use and holds my 12' aluminum boat in tide current. So much easier than tying off a rope. Also works great for tying off to the dock when loading and unloading. Would recommend!!!! It isn't the toughest built but what do you expect for the price. It is worth every cent of what I paid. The supplied rope is more than sufficient for its intended use. I’ve had one of these on a previous boat and loved it. Had to get another for my current boat. This thing is perfect for river fishing or duck hunting. Simple squeeze and let go on the branch you want. Holds tighter when the current pulls on it a little. Easy to release as well.

I bought this for a recent river fishing trip. I have a drag anchor for my kayak but this was the way to go. I used it the whole trip. Actually never dropped the anchor, only used this thing. I stopped in fast moving water several times and hooked this onto a branch, root, twisted re-bar, even a clump of grass once. It held great every time. I’ve been kayaking fishing now heavily for the past 5 or so years and always used an anchor with an anchor trolly which works ok unless you’re in pretty deep water or on the river. Since I purchased this I haven’t touched my anchor. Being a bass fisherman I tend to be near the trees or some sort of formation and I’ve used this everytime I go out even hooked it to my anchor troll to make easy maneuvers. In the river it’s great if you for some reason need to cut your line you can easily go retrieve it rather then losing your anchor to the water.
