So far so good. My 5 yr. old picked these out himself. His older brother got inline skates and he wanted to be like his brother, despite not knowing how to skate at all. These are perfect. He can putt-putt along at his own pace as he is learning to skate. He wears a size 12 shoes so these will fit him for awhile too. These are great! Bought for my 3 yr old son. I didnt think skates for a 3 yr old was really appropriate but the bigger kids were all getting skates I didnt want him to be left out. I was surprised how excited he was to put them on. These skates are perfect for a begginer the large wheels give balance and the large stopper on the back is genius, really helps from skates from rolling out. My son loves these skates hes able to skate on his own by day 3 he was like a lil pro up n down the hall around the the living room and into the kitchen, hard wood floors are great for skates. The weather has been nasty cold and wind and snow but hes been skating and able to burn all that energy in a good way. I highly recommend these for a newbe. My son wears a size 11 toddler shoe bought the small size skate and fits fine i think by the time he out grows them he will be ready for regular kid skates. ... show more

Before I say anything I want to say these are an amazing idea. I had to teach my 5 year old the hard way so I was excited about theses. I personally have been skating for 30+ years, my husband 35+ years. So when our three year old asked for a real pair of skates from Santa it was no surprise. He is a 8/9 depending on the shoe and has a skinny foot. Unlike my other son who has feet that look like potato’s most days they are so wide. (Just being honest.. ) But these wouldn’t fit like they are labeled. I took them apart. Removed the padding. Turned the dial, each way 1,000 times. I know skates are hard to put on the first few times but these are in no way the size on the box (7-11). Shop local at a sports store. ... show more

These are great for beginners because the wheels do not free-roll. You have to intentionally push forward in order to roll. So as soon as my son tried on normal skates, he was no longer interested in these. Also, I got the 11-2 size option. My son is a size 13 shoe. These barely fit on the largest adjustable option! ... show more

Amazing! We love these, we got all kinds of compliments on them and people asking where they were from when we went to the roller skating rink! Love them! Update: It's been 3 months, and my son has only worn these a few times. The front tow has already cracked through. :-( It is now jagged and sharp. He has only ever worn them in the house and in the skating rink. No outside use. Very disappointed. ... show more

These were highly recommended to me by a skate shop. My 3yr old wears a size 8 and has a little bit of a chubby foot, but since these are sized 7-11, they should have still fit. Nope. Even extended all the way out to the size 11, we couldn’t even get either of his feet in the skate. He’s not a big kid by any means. My 4.5 year old son was skating in these in three minutes after putting them on! Very stable and a great way to prepare for rollerblades. Also love the red and black colors. Easy to adjust the length over time with the twisting piece on the back heel. (Ignore the knee pads in the photo. My 6 year old was at that place where he was read to upgrade from the little fisher price beginner skates, but the regular skates at the rink were too much for him to handle. This is a perfect middle ground! I was skeptical when I purchased them, but they really are great. They roll just a tad slower then regular skates, and the speed can be adjusted.
