This is my first time ever having extensions, so that’s the point of view from which I’ll be evaluating these extensions. I’ve been having issues with hair thinning for the last year and my hairdresser finally sold me on the idea of tape ins. She recommended that I try these Full Shine hair extensions from Amazon because she’s had other clients wear them, and they’re very cost friendly for a newbie who may not end up liking extensions (spoiler I love how I look with extensions. The extra work is worth it). Up until this point, I assumed that hair extensions were always in the thousands, so I was very surprised to be able to buy the two packs I needed for $80. She had me buy a pack of 16 inch and a pack of 14 inch. I bought extensions lighter than my natural hair color and then hand dyed them myself using the dye I put on my roots and the color came out beautiful. I purchased extensions that had highlights in them, so that when I dyed them myself, there’d be a lot of dimension in the color, and it worked out. My hairdresser placed these, so I did have professional installation, and you can see the results in my before and after picture. Pros: these extensions are soft to the touch, and they actually blend really well with my thin fine hair. However, even though they feel soft, they’re definitely a coarser hair than mine, which is great because that means they actually hold a curl. I can curl these with a 2 inch barrel, let them cool, and then brush out the curls, and I have amazing waves that hold all day. I’ve been really happy with the texture of the hair. I wore this set for six weeks and none of the tape slipped with me washing my hair about once every 5 to 7 days. I did use heat styling on these and everything was fine. They felt heavy at first, but after the first four or five days I got used to the feeling and as they started to grow out they became more comfortable. I had them taken out at six weeks so I could re-dye my roots and move them up. Cons: these extensions definitely shed a lot. In the six weeks I wore them, everytime I brushed my hair there was hair all over the sink which has never been a problem for me. And when I was cleaning them up and examining them for reuse I could definitely tell that the used extensions (versus the few leftover new ones we didn’t use) were about 25-40% thinner than the new ones so these extensions do lose hair rather quickly. Some of the ends got pretty scraggly. That being said, even though they were visibly thinner, I still went ahead and re-taped them and had them installed for a second six weeks. My hair dresser ended up trimming off the raggedy ends. The after picture attached is actually day one of my second six week cycle so those extensions are six weeks old. I think 12 weeks will probably be the max for these extensions before they are too scraggly to rewear, but that’s still really good for $40 a pack I think. Another con is that they don’t come with enough tape strips to fully re-tape all of them. My hairdresser had to give me some from her stash. If you are brand new to extensions, I’d say for sure give these go. But I’d recommend having them professionally installed if you can. I think there is an art to placing these so they are comfortable and concealed, which is what you get when you pay a hairdresser. Ulta has good rates for a professional installation. ... show more

I’ve only had them in for maybe 4 weeks..they started separating at the tapes almost instantly and after brushing they’ve lost most of the strands of hair. I just took them out because they started looking very stringy and look like mostly synthetic hair. They didn’t hold curl well and never really looked natural. I’m a hairstylist and have worked with many brands. I was looking for an alternative for some of my bridal clients rather than the high dollar brands and heard of this one but wanted to try for myself before recommending. I just don’t think they are even worth the $150 to last not even 4 weeks before looking like Barbie hair. ... show more

I was trying to decide between these and the Bellami brand tape in extensions. Since it was my first time getting extensions I decided on the cheaper route and OH EM GEE these are such great quality and my hair stylist made the comment that the tape was more flexible and not as stiff as other brands she has installed, meaning these are expected to be a lot more comfortable to wear. I’m just on day 4 of them and they style great, are comfortable for extensions, and are such great quality. These had zero fall out, they feel just like my natural hair, and the color is gorgeous. I bought 22 inch natural black for Full Shine tape in extensions. I absolutely love these and they are durable and are easy to apply tapes can expire so it is. DETAILED REVIEW BELOW FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NEW TO AT HOME EXTENSIONS: After getting my hair done for a photoshoot, the hairstylist cut way too much off my already long hair. I was desperate for a quick fix since I had a photoshoot scheduled in two weeks and there was no way it would grow long again by then. I found these and decided to give them a try since I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars on salon extensions. I ordered the 18 inch, color 18/22, P18 613. It was very difficult to try and tell the colors from the description photos and lengths so hopefully this review helps someone. My hair was cut to about 3 inches below my collarbone. I only ordered one pack but honestly I should have ordered 2-3 to make it look fuller. I had my friend who went to cosmetology school put them so I can't tell you how easy it was per se. She did the sandwich technique to put them in (YouTube has a lot of tutorials if you need visuals). She also cut several in half for the sides of my head so they wouldn't stick out and it made it look more natural. Plus it helped the extensions go a lot further since I didn't have many. I have blonde hair naturally with highlights and toned to a silvery icy blonde. My hair is also very fine but I have a lot of it. The color was perfect. I was worried it was too dark but they matched so well you couldn't tell. The length was a bit too long and when we put them in, there was a harsh line where you could tell my natural hair was. Possibly because I didn't order enough for that "layered look". I ended up trimming about an inch and a half off the bottom and where it was originally a blunt cut, I feathered it so it looked more rough ends like natural hair. It helped my real hair blend in much better. With the trim the hair fell an inch or two past my bra strap. As far as washing, I DID NOT wash the extensions before I put them in. I washed my real hair two days before putting the extensions in. After the photoshoot, I ended up washing my hair like normal. It's not easy to do and takes some patience when it comes to washing your scalp so just be forewarned. I also used my purple shampoo as I always do and the extensions absorbed the color and I was left with a purple tint on them. It did fade after a couple of washes. So if you're planning on washing them with purple shampoo before you put them in, I'd saturate them with water VERY WELL, shampoo a couple of times with normal shampoo and go easy on the purple shampoo. Then lightly condition. Overall, the extensions lasted me about 3.5 weeks before they started to peel and curl at the edges (I have oily hair but only wash twice a week) When I removed them, I used coconut oil which helped reduce the amount of natural hairs I lost. YouTube also has some great videos for this. Took about an hour to remove one pack from my hair (I was going slowly and gently) so if you have more than that in your hair, it could take a lot longer. I think the extensions could possibly last a lot longer on someone with less oily hair or someone that washes their hair once a week. Overall 4 stars for the price/quality of these. ... show more
