I am new at applying make up and this kit has been amazing for me. I am still learning about the various brushes but this kit provides everything I needed to get started and grow into the craft. I have yet to use all the make up brushes/blender sponges. However the few I have used, have performed satisfactory. I haven't experienced any shedding and even after I cleaned them; they are still soft and fluffy. I think the brush handles are plastic but they feel nice and comfortable in my hands. This is a wonderfully inexpensive starter make up kit that has performed well. I would recommend it to anyone new to the make up scene like me or someone seeking a back-up set for travel.
