Just received my new Frye Melissa Satchel in Ice, and it was love at first sight, touch and smell. This is the perfect bag for me that I've been seeking for a long time. It is so hard these days to find a leather bag that actually looks, feels and smells like good quality leather. I hate Saffiano leather, because it is so thick and rough and no longer resembles leather after it has been so heavily treated. Ice happened to be the color I was looking for, and it was an added bonus that this color was over $100 less expensive than the other colors. Also, though the leather is smooth and soft to the touch, it is very solid and sturdy. For me it is the perfect size, holding all my daily essentials comfortably. My iPad fits easily in it, but my laptop does not. So if this is an issue for you, this may not be your best choice. Another reviewer expressed disappointment that there was no dust bag. But, mine came with a really nice dust bag., It is a thick, soft, cotton flannel that would hold up well in the washer and dryer if needed. Great purchase! Highly recommend. I have had this bag on my wish list for about a year and every time I would go to order the price would prevent me from moving forward, let's face it...this is a lot to spend on a bag. Well I finally pulled the trigger....and boy was it worth it!! I wish I had gotten it sooner. The color is beautiful (not to dark not to light), I got the dark brown and I LOVE it. So well made, so classic... good for work or casual. Also, my laptop for work fits so I only have to carry ONE bag which is great. Mine also did not come with the Frye logo hanging on the handle but I don't really care about that as I usually remove them (they irritate me) Great shoulder strap for cross body use and just an overall amazing bag, good feeling in the hand, high quality, beautiful leather. So worth the money!! Saving for the wallet that matches now. Do it....do it.....it's worth it. ... show more

This is a gorgeous handbag and it was delivered within a couple of days. Also, the bag was completely wrapped by the factory and untouched. The bag is a light lilac color. Love it! Great purchase, on sale for $220! Updated on 9/25/19 So, I really liked this bag, but I wanted the brown more than anything for this winter. I happened to notice there was a "Used" "Very Good" condition bag on sale, from $191 Amazon Warehouse and I figured, " Why not, might as well give it a shot," and return it if need be. WOW am I glad I did. It came with almost all of the protective wrapping, not a scratch on it, smelling great and no flaws that I could find. This bag is PERFECT and I think it's my favorite handbag ever (at least right now). The brown is absolutely yummy! The on-line order gods smiled on me this time. I'm so happy. I guess the moral of the story is, "Try the 'Used' items, if the deal looks good!" ... show more

I'm in love with this bag. I saw it at a department store and decided I had to have it - and I am NOT a "purse person". I have never spent this much for a bag (and still can't believe I did), but would do it again. I love the look and feel of the leather - it appears "rugged" for the lack of a better word - it's not dainty. For me, the size is perfect - large enough to hold my wallet, makeup bag, glasses, keys, phone, etc. and not too deep causing everything to get lost and jumbled in the bottom. The handles aren't large enough to wear this bag on your shoulder (use the removable shoulder strap if that's what you're looking for) which is just another reason I really like it because when carrying, it doesn't hang too low like it's going to drag on the ground. My only concern is its weight - the bag is heavy because of the fabulous leather. I'm now a Frye Fan! ... show more

Absolutely love this Frye bag. Purchased in Cognac color on sale. Color is beautiful. Scuffs easily. I would recommend applying leather conditioner immediately to hydrate and protect leather before use. Shipping was fast. This is my fourth Frye bag. Highly recommend Frye brand.
