WOW, WOW, WOW! What a gorgeous, rich, high quality tote! I recently purchased a Melissa satchel in Cognac and a Melissa wallet in Dusty Rose and fell in love with ithem. Since I’ll be traveling more for work, I thought I’d purchase the tote-so glad I did. This tote is spacious without being overwhelming, structured but still comfortable and slouchy. The leather is stunning-soft,supple,thick,rich. Straps are perfectly comfortable over my shoulder. I LOVE the Cognac color! It’s *the* perfect shade of brown! Now...I originally ordered the Beige color, but I just didn’t love it...too...beige! So I initiated a return on Amazon, dropped my package off at the Post Office the next day at lunch time, and my credit was applied to my account within 2-3 hours!! WOW to Amazon! I immediately ordered the Cognac tote and it’s now happily hanging from my doorknob :) Incredible bag, incredible customer experience!

ONE YEAR UPDATE I've been using this bag daily for a year. Still amazing. Still looks amazing. Still get tons of compliments. Still the sharpest, most professional, most useful, and most beautiful bag in my collection. Worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I still love it so so much. This. Bag. Is. Amazing. It's the perfect size. The straps are the right length and don't fall off my shoulder. It has the perfect interior pockets. It easily fits my computer, a few files, my large wallet, and a few other things. The leather. Oh my God the leather. It feels like butter. It stands up beautifully. And maybe it's weird, but it smells amazing. I keep walking past it and getting a whiff of that rich leather smell. It smells like a new saddle. It's simple, sharp, rich, professional, and super high quality. Buy it.

Okay, to be clear - I'm one of those people who has to have their laptop with them at all times, along with everything else that a mobile office requires. This thing is, first off, gorgeous - it goes with quite literally everything. Black? Check. Brown? Check. Acqua? Check. Leopard? CHECK! It's super ridiculous versatile, and ever since I've received it, it's being used 100% of the time. The leather is beautiful, and the silvery gray is just lovely. I want that leather as a pair of boots. RAD! Highly recommend. Well done, Frye.

I swooned over this bag for months before I bit the bullet and bought it. It was everything that I hoped it would be. I had no complaints until recently when my straps began falling apart. I've only had this bag since October 2017. I carry it everyday only half full. I will be contacting Frye regarding this. Not the quality I expected.

While I absolutely loved this Frye tote, it was way too big for what I wanted. I did return it but only because of that. It would hold a laptop, books, a tablet, phone, and all the other things women carry when they are working or traveling. It is a gorgeous bag and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a beautifully made large leather tote.

I returned this "FRYE Melissa Shopper Tote". It had a bad smell and when I looked closer, I could tell, by the seams, that this is made out of a plastic material (though you could tell this by the smell). I am not saying all of these are fake however the one I received definitely was not leather.

I had been looking at this bag forever and finally made the purchase when I found a retailer on Amazon with a reduced price. I think they must be discontinuing the Slate Color - which is the color I purchased, hence the reduction in price. This bag easily holds my MacBook Pro, my wallet, makeup bag, a book, etc. Great travel bag! I’m a public speaker and I need to look nice while hauling my computer and connections around. I used to carry a bag with my laptop and also carry my purse but this bag allows me to just carry one bag and I feel less like a hobo with only one bag. The leather is beautiful and so soft and will clearly look even better as it wears. The length of the straps are perfect for me as I hate struggling with shorter straps when I have a coat on. Even though the leather is soft, it doesn’t lose its shape when it’s sitting is on a table. As always, I wish bags had a few more pockets but bag designers seem to hate the idea of pockets. This bag has two shallow, standard pockets on one side of the interior of the bag and another zipper pocket on the other side. There are no exterior pockets which is kind of a bummer because searching for my phone is always such a hassle. It also has a little strap that you can use to connect your keys to instead of having to fish for them at the bottom of this generously sized bag. Frye bags can be a decent financial investment but in my experience they last a lifetime. I can’t imagine anyone would regret buying this bag: great leather, great size, great quality and oh so pretty.
