Just got this today! And then the skies opened and it poured rain! What's a guy to do. I know, test the frog toggs! I ordered the 2XL for me as I plan on wearing this over my clothing and I wanted it baggy. Something I could pull on quickly when I'm out driving my jeep and it starts to rain. I have no top for my jeep... These run pretty huge. I am 5'11" and 250lbs and I"m swimming in the 2XL. That's ok. There's room to breath and it'll go on over my jeans or whatever I'm wearing. As for the downpour, I was outside for 5 minutes until the lightening forced me back inside. No leaks and the baggy pants helped cover my shoe tops to keep water out of my socks. Shoes are waterproof.... The only downfall to these are no pockets. I was outside and standing in the rain I wanted to put my hands in pockets to keep them out of the rain too and there were none. So I just pulled my hands inside the sleeves. Not practical but ok. Pockets just risk a leak I suppose and absolute waterproofness to me was the most important thing. The hood was huge also. It does have cords to help cinch it down tight and there's room for you to pull your head back into the hood a little so you stay drier. Nice. This material feels like Gore-Tex covered in fibers that give it a reusable grocery bag kind of feel. I'll see how durable they are jumping in and out of the jeep. ... show more

The sizing is baggy. I typically wear large in my clothing, and considered sizing up to account for layering underneath. Following size charts and reviews, I stuck with a "large." I prefer a more tight fit and if I order again, will go for a medium, which should be adequate for layering of clothes underneath. I bought the Frogg Toggs All Sport rain suit as my old and trusty Goretex windbreaker had worn out. A lot of reviews said FT's DRIPORE GEN 2 middle layer was better than Goretex in the breathability department which is very important to me as a hiker, backpacker in Florida (humidity!!). I got them this past week and used them for the first time yesterday (Sunday, Jan. 15) to paddle my kayak escorting a swimmer across Tampa Bay for the annual Frogman Swim. The air temp at launch was 47 deg. Water temp was warmer but not by much. I have a sit-on-top kayak so I wore the FT suit to keep my warmer under-layers dry. With a significant wind churning up the water and making the "feels like" temp around 41 deg. I felt warm and dry due in large part to the FT suit. Due to our course across the bay waves were hitting me broadside with water splashing into the cockpit. The FT suit shedded the water wonderfully so I stayed dry.It also kept the wind from chilling me even tho I had poly underlayers on. I also did not sweat much as I had in the past with my older and failing Goretex suit. The FT material is stiff but I don't care as long as it keeps me warm and dry. To me, this was a great text of FT's capabilities for waterproofness and breathability and it scores high marks! I'm very happy with it and hope the suit last the decades that my Goretex suit did. ... show more
