It turns out you CANNOT etch into them. I spent over an hour trying to carve an indent. I got less than one fourth of one sheet done. They are stuck at the thickness advertised.

I'm a book collector and needed a spacer for the shelves in my library. For some reason, the bookcases in the library have a piece of trim that overhangs the sides of the shelves. It looks nice but blocks the books that are at each end, especially if they are thin books. So, I needed something soft that I could put between the book at the end of the shelf and the side of the bookcase. These are perfect.
