There is a closet in our house that had a really bad oder and everything I put in it started to smell bad as well. I put one of these jars in it, shut the door and it took the smell right out. I ordered this product to go into my closet to help with shoe odor - these are heels and boots. I wanted more than just masking the smells. I put the 7 oz jar in my closet, which is small. It worked well for the first two days , but a week later I am noticing the shoe smells returning . I shook the jar yesterday to see if that might activate the gel. The larger one I put into the garage. Same thing - there was a noticeable difference the first few days, but a week later, I am noticing the smell coming back. I think the idea is good and maybe I just need a little more time. I'll see! Update: July 15th - it's been 2 months since I purchased these and placed in the house. In my first review I wasn't very impressed,but after two months I do believe this product is working. The shoe smell in the closet is gone and the garage smells great. The item arrived with the seal broken so there was oil all over everything and smelled very strong. Once washed and placed in a small-ish office, the smell is not noticeable. But It's difficult to say whether it is working well or not.
