This Freewell 8-pack filter set is a fantastic upgrade for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro if you want to step up your aerial photography. The range from ND4 to ND64 covers you in just about any lighting condition, and having the ND/PL (polarizer) combo really helps cut glare and boost color depth in bright scenes. The build quality feels solid and they fit snugly on the drone without adding weight that would affect flight. I noticed shots come out sharper and with more natural contrast, especially over water and reflective surfaces. If you’re flying the Mavic 4 Pro, you know the struggle of switching between the different lenses and having your exposure jump all over the place. These Freewell Split ND filters are a total game-changer. By having different densities for the main sensor versus the telephotos, switching cameras mid-flight without having to land and swap filters just to keep the shutter speed correct is a breeze. The 8-pack is truly an "all-day" set. The ND8/PL works perfectly for golden hour, and the ND64/PL handles the harshest midday sun without any noticeable color shift. The polarizers are also excellent—they really make the colors pop and kill reflections on water beautifully. Installation is simple: they just twist and snap on securely. I was worried about the gimbal, but they are incredibly lightweight and haven't caused any calibration issues. If you want cinematic footage that stays consistent as you zoom, this set is well worth the small spend compared to the quality, flexibility and results. ... show more

Using the Freewell all day set for the Mavic 3 Pro, I was hoping Freewell would offer the same for the Mavic 4 Pro, and I would get equal results. Happy to say they have pulled it off again. Fit and function are top notch. I get full articulation of the gimbal without any sort of binding or errors. The filters install clean without light leaks, and while they are heavier—the PL, I have not encountered any stabilization issues. It is hard to beat OEM DJI filters for fit and function, but they lack in delivering polarization, specialized options, and DJI themselves have gotten the ND split wrong in the past. Polarization I’ve found to have the most benefit in city environments with lots of glass and over water when I want to cut the glare. The next benefit, most noticeable in white clouds and blue sky, is more vibrancy. When the wind is calm, you can get a slightly sharper image; most of the time, I’ll touch on this in a moment. The base NDs provide accurate representation of the stops, and of the filters I’ve tried, hands down, these have the least amount of color shift. Vignetting is nearly absent, catching just a bit of darkening on the outer corners at ND64. Well, it isn’t all rainbows and sunshine (if it was, you’d at least have good color accuracy); when using the PLNDs on the zoom cameras, there is a noticeable softening of the image, the 168 more so than the 70. I don’t find this to be the case on the main camera or when using the standard NDs. It is also most prominent when facing strong light, particularly at an angle from either side. It’s a phenomenon I don’t encounter flying away from the sun as noticeably. It is almost as if something with the stacked lens causes the autofocus to pick up the glass itself and tries to get it in focus as well or creates a slight light shift so when it pixel stacks, it registers off. This hasn’t been a huge issue for me as typically I’m using the zoom lenses with no ND or just a standard ND, but this is still worth noting as it could have a big impact for some users. The best comparison is liking it to the zoom on the Mavic 3 Pro, just not quite as sharp as it could be. This aside, this set is still, in my opinion, the best ND set currently available for the Mavic 4 Pro, like it was for the 3 Pro as well. It is also one of the more affordable options with the greatest variance of options. 8 lenses for the cost of less than 4 from others, that perform better in most cases, yes, please. ... show more
