I bought this collapsible 23 liter bucket to be able to try to wash some clothes on a cruise that I will be going on because it will cost upwards of $100 or more to have them do the clothes because they have no self-serve washing machines on board. I will be using it with a handheld mobile washer in the shower stall, that looks like a plunger with some holes in it. I have given the bucket a test run before leaving and it performs very well. I bought this in hopes to make a DIY camp shower as all the "camp showers" on the market seems to have a tendency to prematurely break and this water bucket had good reviews. I purposely bought the dark blue color so it would heat up easier under the sun. At the moment, I've only performed some stress testing on the bucket and have not used it as a shower yet. In the review, you can see 2 photos attached of my testing. I filled up the bucket most of the way. I had it filled up all the way, but some of the water will spill out when you move it and there is no way to avoid that. From my testing, I found the bucket will stand up on its own when filled with all the way with water and its handles are strong enough to being dangled from a piece of wood board or from a carabineer. I've actually left it almost full (as mentioned some of the water do spill out while being moved) for several days now trying different set ups that I might use to dangle this bucket from a tree branch. It has stood up to all of it. I've left it hanging over night, during the day, and stress tested it as much as possible as I obviously don't want 50 pounds crashing down on my head in the forest. Also due to the dark color of the bucket, my water actually heated up quite fast after being left out in the sun and it was able to absorb the ambient temperature really well too. One con I did notice, and I'm sure is with all collapsible buckets, is that it can't stand up straight when there is empty or only partially filled. For it to stand up on its own all the way, you have to have it filled up with water or else it will collapse on its own. Since I think this happens to all collapsible buckets, I won't dock it any stars. As of right now, I recommend you get this bucket if you are looking to make a camp shower. Just use some reusable wire ties and wrap a long plastic tube to the handles with one end of the tube in the water Once you hang this up on a tree and get some water flowing through the tube, gravity will do the rest siphoning the water down and you can have a nice camp shower. ... show more

We got one for our horses to use on pack in camping trips, for water and swelled feed. We have used it on the first camping trip and was surprised by its durability, It survived the abuse the 2 horses dished out and one of the horses is exceptionally rough on things and when it was a said and done it still held water and did not leak. Very useful. I own two and use them to do hand laundry in my tub. I live in a Manhattan walk up (no elevator, fourth floor) and the nearest laundromat is several blocks away, so I find it easier to do everything by hand and dry on a rack in the house. The 23 liter is large enough to do a queen size set of sheets and two pillowcases comfortably with room to spare, or three fluffy bath towels. The 16 liter can fit the queen set in a pinch but is better for clothes, or two less-fluffy bath size towels. This will collapse if not set down perfectly or bumped into by, say, a cat, so I do not recommend removing it from the bathtub while full. The straps are quite sturdy and I tend to hang mine from the hot-and-cold taps in the tub (I have the kind with two handles, fortunately) while washing so it stays upright. ... show more

Never owned a such a multi purpose, collapsible, lightweight bucket before. I've been using all winter, kept in the car for outdoor dog toys, treats, poop bags, leashes and halters, etc. The dogs use it as a pillow when riding in the car because it is soft sided. Will buy more for summer gardening, can't wait to see how waterproof it is. Update: Owned for over 6 months now, bucket is still in perfect condition. These work great for warming up water to use in a portable shower in warm weather. The lid is nice because it keeps out insects and debris while the water is warming from the ambient temperature. They are sensitive to lateral and downward force when filled as that will cause them to fold up and empty themselves. Best advice, don't touch them when they are full. One full large bucket will give enough water for two showers in our families normal usage. For that reason we take 3 large buckets with us so everyone gets a nice warm shower. ... show more

Finally got the chance to use my 10L bucket camping, and boy was I glad to have it! Made doing dishes and filtering water go much faster and easier than usual. It packs small, is super light, and has a nifty pouch that hangs on a line. I also like how sturdy the material is, I feel like it will hold up for a long time. The one complaint I have, is that it doesn't turn into a bucket very well. When you fill it and work the edge with your hands, it starts to take shape. But it really seems to want to fold back up.
