  • Quality sheet music
Format: Paperback
I bought this primarily for Consolation #3 and Liebestraume but I appreciate the other pieces also included. The pedal and fingering notations are also nice. Nice quality book of music, thank you for the good price.

  • Laminated Cover
Format: Paperback
To my surprise the book came with a laminated cover. Same with another Schirmer book I bought last month. Not sure if this is something new they are doing across the board, but it's a pleasant surprise. Hopefully it'll increase the lifespan of the book.

  • Great printing
Format: Paperback
Easy to read and follow. This book has some great pieces. The fingerings are a bit strange in some sections, I would recommend finding your own or use a different copy for that.

  • Love!
Format: Paperback
I really love these Schirmer books. I know there are disagreements as to whether the Schirmer books are completely true to the original pieces or not, but my piano teacher had me playing out of several of them when I was growing up. This one of Liszt pieces is wonderful.

  • Preferred Over Dover
Format: Paperback
I own both Dover and Schirmer versions. Dover version is more "cramped", some would argue, more concise. For example, Consolation #3 is 3 pages in Dover, but 6 pages in Schirmer). Schirmer has fingering notations, next to none in Dover (only 4 to be exact, in Consolation #3). Spreading out the notes visually has the added benefit of aiding in timing, as the melodic right upper hand is in double time and the left hand accompaniment is in triplet time for most of this piece. ... show more

  • Amazon Prime is awesome.
Format: Paperback
My student performed Liebestraum in a recital at school in March. Another student was interested in learning it so I bought this score. The day it arrived I took it to school and attended the final recital of the year. Two seniors programmed an arrangement of Liebestraum for flute and piano and the pianist wasn’t prepared. I pulled this score out and accompanied her. Timing is everything. Thank you Amazon for your fast shipping ... show more

  • .......
Format: Paperback
Not a big fan of shirmer publishings but this seems not too bad.

  • Simply a joy.
Format: Paperback
I'm not a Liszt expert by any stretch but this edition to my musical sense looks good. The fingering and pedaling are clear. Having handled many sub-par Schirmer editions in my youth I've tended to avoid them but this is outstanding. The print is excellent, the layout is large and well spaced. Easy to read. Love it. ... show more
