I bought my son a throwing net for him to practice throwing with. After buying it, it struck me that it would suck to have a ball or two- throw them, walk over to the net, grab them, walk back and throw again. The whole purpose of a throwing net is that my son can spend time throwing by himself. So, I decided to look for balls and was hoping to find something that was not too expensive. I eventually came across these on Amazon. At the time, the blue balls were priced at $5.99 where as the other colors were around $12-13 or so. Not really caring about the color, I bought several of them. Once we got them and used them, I went back and bought more for a total of 10 balls. The balls are rubber so there is a little bit of a difference in feel than you will have with a leather ball but there is not that much of a difference that you can not use these for practice. There is nothing about them other than not being leather that would be a downside but when looking for a cheap option to get many balls, you can't have everything. My boys enjoy them and in fact, I took them to football practice and the other coaches were impressed enough that when they found out how much I paid, they went directly on to Amazon and bought some for themselves. I see the price has gone up since I bought them but I would say that the value is still there even at a higher price. For the price I got them at, I don't think I have ever got a better deal out of Amazon. - - - Update- we have got a ton of use out of these balls. They have held up well and continue to be a good purchase. I certainly would purchase them at a higher price point than what I originally got them for which was a steal. ... show more
