I had this narrow little space at the bottom of my stairs that, for years, only collected dog hair and dust. I finally decided I’d like to put shelving there and picked this bookcase because of the height and narrow width. Overall: 4 or 5 Pros 1. Easy to Assemble 2. Fast Shipping 3. Light Weight 4. Clear Instructions 5. Good Packaging, no damage Cons 1. Expensive for low-end quality material. 2. Very thin material, was nervous putting it together. Feels fragile. 3. Shelving isn't really meant to stagger so customization was challenging. I had to force the spacing to be the way I wanted it. UPDATE: One year later Second photo is a year later and I love this bookcase. It’s stood up to the test of time AND heavy use! I am giving it a bump to 5 stars because I like it so much I’m getting another.

This is a very nice bookshelf. It looks so nice in our living room. It holds the DVDs we love and watch more often than some others we have. I would gladly buy this again. We are an older couple but had no problem putting it together.

I am a senior and sometimes need help putting things together. That was the easiest to put together. The instruction was so easy to understand and so happy with this bookshelf. I would buy this again in a minute. Thank you so much for your great instructions. The quality is excellent.

Sturdy build
I purchased two of these shelving units because the company I previously purchased a unit that would hold about 800 blu-rays no longer is selling that unit anywhere I can find. When I noticed this brand had a shelving unit that would be the exact same dimensions (if I bought two and put them side-by-side). I quickly made the purchase. The price is a good price too! What I hadn’t noticed is these shelves are about twice as deep and when completed will only have 7 rows of shelves instead of the 8 like the unit I can no longer get. That’s a bit of a bummer as it means there will be a little less storage for blu-rays. This unit it probably designed for specifically for books and knick-knack and can also be used for physical media storage. But is less modifiable than a unit specifically designed for physical media storage. The upside, though, is this unit is much sturdier than my previous unit since the boards are thicker and the shelves are deeper. That’s a big plus as my original shelves from that other company are kinda flimsy. I trust this unit could survive a move. I’m not sure my older shelves could. My advice is to carefully check all your measurements first on what you need, including the number of shelves, before buying. If this unit matches your needs, I do recommend buying it. Another advantage over my bigger shelves is the smaller size of this shelving unit makes it easier to setup and move into place. By combining two units it ended up being the same outer deminsions as my older, larger unit.

Shelf pegs go through center so you cannot stagger shelves individually on each side

It was delivered in good condition, all pieces were in the box, easy to assemble. HOWEVER, the pegs for the bookcase height run through the center which limits your ability to stagger the shelves. I did not see any reference to this in the advertising. I was very disappointed in that respect.
