This bookshelf was fairly easy to assemble. It took me about two hours. The spacing gives you the ability to add more than books on the shelf. It is a perfect touch to my toddlers new big girl room!

    • Terrific bookcase for the money!

You only need a phillip-head screwdriver to assemble, although I also used pliers to screw in the connector bolts to join the two halves of the bookcase. I took my time, so assembly took me around four hours. First to lay out and organize the various parts, then to figure out the instructions. It's very helpful that the bookcase board parts have the numbers on them as they are similar in appearance. Not much written instructions, mainly drawings showing how to assemble. My experience working with particle board is that you have to make sure not to overtighten the screws or you will strip the threads. So I hand-tightened everything, I didn't use an automatic screwdriver. I purchased a white unit, so it came with white stickers to cover the screw holes. Surprisingly effective, they are difficult to see and make the sides of the bookcase appear seamless. The bookcase is solid when the two halves are joined, the shelves have no problem carrying the weight to the books placed upon it. I'm pleased with the unit and would recommend it to others that need a bookcase of this size. ... show more

Its a good size, very sturdy, looks good, and I love it. But a lot of the instructions were unclear due to there only being pictures, no actual words. And lots of the "panels" didn't have any numbers or anything so I had to restart part of the shelf half way through because the numbers hadn't corresponded. (there were no numbers.) While these bookcases take a hot minute to put together, after one or two it's pretty easy. it helps if you have someone to help you put the two pieces together, however. These cases seem a little unsteady at first, but if you use both wall anchors they are very sturdy! I recommend using the wall brackets for safety since these cases hold a lot of books, which is one of the best things about these shelves. The bookshelves also look amazing, as you can see in the photos. The one drawback is the shelves are not adjustable (also notable in the photos) and you will need to either turn large books on their sides or put them on top of the case. Recommend. ... show more

I bought one first to try it, but now I'm buying another. I have an art studio with other white storage furniture, and had just enough depth for this on the wall behind my door. I originally planned to put up floating shelves for art supplies, but they practically cost this much per shelf plus are a lot more work. I just needed something to store books, office and art supplies. When it comes it's shocking that it's going to feel sturdy. The pieces are thin, the end panels are in half. But it goes together easily and is sturdy and the white finish was flawless. Even the stickers came off easily. The only thing not great is that they made no attempt to hide the screws on the outside, so you get plastic dots to stick over them. Not only is the bookshelf very decent but the customer service is top notch. I ordered 1 of these and it arrived perfectly so I decided to order another one. When the second bookshelf arrived it was unfortunately damaged during shipping and had multiple broken pieces. I contacted the seller and they shipped out a whole new one.
