  • Decent letter/number stamp set for polymer clay
I like this little stamp set overall, although there are also a few things I would have done differently if I were designing it. I personally used mine for polymer clay, so don't be swayed by the fact that the packaging only mentions air dry clay. These would work just fine for polymer clay, fondant, Play-Doh, etc. It was nice that the backs of most of the letters and numbers were the same size and shape so that they were spaced evenly in the holder/stamper. However the letter "i" pieces were together on one backing of the same size as all of the other single characters, which made those particular ones very hard to get a scissors between them to cut them apart, harder to keep straight in the holder (they tend to get angled), and harder to space with other letters if the "i" is in the middle of a word. (I included photos of that to show what I mean.) Therefore, I wish the letter "i" pieces were like the number "1" and still had the same backing as all the rest even though they're both thinner characters. I also would have liked to see a couple of "blank" squares included in the mix to use as spacers between words, but it was still easy enough to eyeball that and not critical to have. On the plus side, I especially liked that there were duplicate letters to be able to stamp multiple words or words including repeated letters within the same word at the same time. Also, all of the characters were very crisp and uniform without any burrs or defects like some plastic stamps can have that end up giving sloppy results. The handle is very hard plastic which makes it sturdy, easy to hold, and easy to apply a consistent pressure when stamping. My only complaint was that it could have been even better if it was clear so that you could see through it to line up the stamp better. I personally found it was easiest to hold it on it's side to see roughly where the letters would land and then roll it upright before stamping it. Cutting the individual characters apart is very time consuming and a little tricky since they're so small to hold onto, plus the connecting tabs between them that you're cutting off tend to fly everywhere, so I definitely recommend cutting them over a trash can (but not one with trash in it, because if you drop one of the characters, it's hard to find it - LOL!) This set did come in a resealable pouch which is made of a sturdy enough material to reuse for storing everything. However, I'd personally recommend putting the letters and numbers in a little plastic box or tin instead, because I found that it's far easier to pick through them to find the specific characters that you want to use without having to dump all of them out on the table. Overall, I would recommend this set despite the few things that I'd change if I could, and I do think it would be worth ordering again. ... show more

  • Not worth my time cutting them apart
I started cutting these apart and realized how much time it was going to take to trim all the little ends off, and I gave up. They must be trimmed in order to fit in the groove of the blue press. They might be functional after all that, but the font is nothing special anyway, so I’m not going to spend my time trying to make this work. ... show more

  • Cute and inexpensive
This is an easy to use way to emboss lettering in ceramics or any soft medium that will mold to the block letters. It isn't an elegant font, but it's fine for an informal label or name. The letters and numbers are deep enough that you should have no problem making a legible imprint. I have had problems with presses that were too shallow and left things just about unreadable after firing. The rack is useful for keeping spacing and alignment. They are fun and easy to use. ... show more

  • Nice for pottery.
These little letters are great for making small items or customizing the bottoms of your pieces. I do pottery and these are nice little letters. Once you cut them all apart you can put them on the little piece to hold them all together and make the words perfectly straight. Just dip them into some Pam to prevent sticking to the clay. ... show more

  • Imprint custom words and phrases in cookies and clay
This is like using an old fashioned letterpress - tiny plastic letters that you slide into a line. There are duplicates of most used letters but this only comes with one lineup, so if you need two lines, you have to re-do it for the second line. It's a lot of work - a labor of love! - but adds a nice custom touch. You can use it for cookies or things like clay. ... show more

  • Simple and effective
Very easy to set up and use. The letters could be taller, but otherwise perfect.
