  • A nice pair of glasses for a petite face
Color: Dark Teal Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
I really like these glasses! I bought them because I just had cataract surgery and now need a very slight positive correction for reading, after being quite nearsighted my entire life. I am a petite woman, and it has been very difficult to find glasses that aren't giant and will fit my small face. I wanted progressive lenses so I could wear them all the time, as I was a previous glasses wearer and didn't want to be taking off my glasses to see the tv or other distance object. I love the color and the delicate look of the frame. They are very stylish and lightweight! The lenses don't seem to have any special coatings on them, so they look crystal clear. On the one hand I like that because the blue light coatings give the lenses a greenish-yellow tint in outdoor lighting. It is quite apparent that they don't have an anti-reflective coating on them as I can see mild reflections on the inside of the lenses in my field of view when there are random lights behind or above me. Overall, they are a nice pair of glasses for the price and without having to go to a retailer that would want me to have a prescription in order to get a pair of progressive lenses. ... show more

  • Problem Solved!
Color: Dark Teal Magnification Strength: 2.5 x
My ophthalmologist recommended buying progressive readers when I complained to him that I was constantly changing glasses for different situations, such as when I am using my camera and constantly switching between reading the viewing screen in the back to the subject of my photo. I love the fact that there is clear glass at the top, the middle of the lens is for reading material that is maybe an arm’s length away (for instance a desktop computer screen,) and the bottom lens (you pick the magnification when you order) is for reading close up. The design is attractive and contemporary. They fit well and seem to be very well made. After reading several reviews of other less expensive glasses, I decided that these would be worth the higher price. They certainly aren’t that expensive and, so far, seem worth the extra ten or so dollars. ... show more

  • Stylish and reasonable quality for the price
Color: Dark Teal Magnification Strength: 2 x
These glasses get a lot of varying opinions. I’ll try to provide some clarity (no pun intended). First, remember these are $25 glasses with progressive lenses, which normally cost many times what single focus or lined bifocal lenses cost. Are they perfect? Not quite, but would you rather pay $175 or more just for progressive lenses - plus cost of the frame? These are great for trying out progressive lenses for the first time, or to have a pair of no-line glasses you can use for close work and watching TV without taking glasses on and off. The lenses are not perfectly clear. See photo. They have a slight greyish purple tinge; this is probably for filtering blue light. This is MUCH better than yellow tinted blue light filtering glasses that make you look like you have jaundice. Some have noted the lenses reflect light on the inside surface of the lens. This is true and may also be related to the blue light filtering aspect. Personally I might not have noticed it if I hadn’t read about it, and it doesn’t really bother me. I can see how it MIGHT if there is lighting behind you that’s in a position to be reflected. Similarly, the lenses do slightly distort some lights in your field of vision including some “halo” effects. Size: some complain that they’re “too small.” The lens width is 48mm - a very common size for this shape. I prefer this size because I don’t want glasses that are huge or they overwhelm my face. There is plenty of lens to see out of. Frame quality - I’ve only had mine a short time but it seems reasonably well made. The bows “snap” shut when folded which I like. I got the green color which I really like. I’ll live with them a bit longer and may also get them in the brown color. There aren’t many good choices for good looking progressive lens glasses that are cheap. It’s easy to get spoiled by all the extremely cheap SINGLE vision reading glasses. $25 is NOT a lot for truly good looking glasses that are adequate for meeting most close up and distance vision needs. Beats paying optician prices for a first-time or extra pair, or a pair you can afford to lose. ... show more

  • I have owned 8 pairs of these glasses. I love them till they all break in the same way
Color: Dark Teal Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
I really like these glasses. They are light weight and the lens work well. Now here's the "but" They all break on the bottom part of the frame around the lenses after about 6-8 months of normal use. The frame just breaks and the lens fall out. Has happened to 7 of my 8 pairs. I don't have this issue with the brown framed version of these. Nice while they last, don't last long enough for the cost. ... show more

  • Kinda Suck
Color: Dark Teal Magnification Strength: 3 x
I was hoping these would solve the dreaded trifocals issue but... alas. First, the case: it’s difficult to slide the glasses into. The amount of pressure required to overcome the resistance will likely cause eventual damage to the frames. Next, the lenses: the section for close up reading is not the same magnification as others I’ve purchased from various sources (amazon, grocery store pharmacy, etc). While it’s advertised as a specific magnification, it is not equivalent to other various manufacturer’s magnification listed as the exact same. Additionally, I really have to stress my eyes downward to the very bottom edge of the lenses in order to read, which is tiring at the least, painful at the worst. The middle distance is great. Reading my laptop is wonderful with these. Unfortunately, I still have to swap glasses to go between laptop and phone because the cheaters (bottom of lenses for close up reading) portion of these lenses suck. Distance: seeing the tv on the wall is just fine. Angled vs straight viewing: if you’re not looking straight arrow ahead at the subject of interest, you’re screwed. Even a slight glance / angle away from straight ahead and everything blurs. They are lightweight so... 1 Star? ... show more
