  • Great Boots! ---> but it took me a long time to get things right.
Size: 12 Color: Brown
TLDR: My foot is a 10.5 4E Width. The Euro 46 (size 12) is a good fit. I have HUGE calves. This was a problem, so I stuck a Big Mans set of insolves in the boots ON TOP of the factory insoles (which kinda suck). This not only made the boot go from good to great, it solves teh problem with the boots being able to close over my calves. Long Version: Like anyone reading this review, I wanted more protection for my legs and feet. I do a lot of distance riding and knew I needed something comfortable AND tough. After lots of reading and reviews I settled on these boots. Once done, I just had to buy them. At first I ordered a Euro 45. They fit OK and felt OK... but I did a quick walk around my block with them. Bro, NO WAY, what felt OK went to TERRIBLE and painful very quickly. After limping back home those boots came off and I was heartbroken. They felt like they were the right size for me, but my toe kept sliding into the toe box with paintfull consquences... and I couldnt get the velcro to close over my calves. :( So back they went. I spent ANOTHER big pile of cash and ordered 46s, as I knew I wanted to improve my foot and ankle protection, even if it cost too much money. (eventually the refund processed, whew). These boots arrived and I was very suspicious. But damn, they slipped right on and felt GOOD. I closed em up as best I can and walked around the house with them for about an hour... and they were still GOOD. I then decided I could keep these, so I stuck a set of fatboy thick insoles in them on top of the paper OEM insoles. Then I went for a long walk. Results were positive! I started playing with the tension adjustments till I found one I liked. (Got it a little too tight then backed it up a couple clicks). Then on their first ride they were great. Now, there is difinitly something MUCH beefier down there. You KNOW at first there are touring boots on your feet. But after some good corners and a couple hours, it got very natural. I would reccomend these boots to you if what you buy feels GREAT. If it doesnt feel GREAT, send em back and try another size and some insoles. ... show more

  • Decent
Size: 10 Color: Brown
Sizing is tricky so it took me two orders to get it right. Context: I was in the Army 22 years so I have a lot of experience with boots. I am still breaking them in, but they seem comfortable. Some boots are good for riding, but are terrible for walking around. These are certainly comfortable enough to walk around in even after riding for awhile. They don't have much ankle flex resistance so they aren't going to save you from an ankle crush or break. A stout stick still has the potential to cause injury as well. My least favorite thing about them is the buckle system. It is all plastic and will undoubtedly be the first thing to fail. I honestly can't believe they used such a cheap system on these boots. I would have preferred easily replaceable straps or laces to the plastic that is on there. The buckle system also makes them look very ugly. No clue why they picked light gray plastic to go on a brown boot. Why not make it all black so it blends in? It even looks odd on the black version of these boots. All things considered, any decent brand of durable work boots will perform the same role as these. Nice work boots are pretty pricey as well though and don't have the shifter protection on the toe like a lot of riding boots do. Would I buy them again? Maybe. But I would look a little harder for something better in the same price range next time. I gave them 3 stars because I interpret 3 stars as being average and that is how I feel these boots rate for the price. ... show more

  • Great for ATV riding.
Size: 10 Color: Brown
Needed foot protection while riding ATV. Regular boots are OK; however, they do not provide any real protection in the event you are involved in an accident. This boot provides adequate protection and feels quite comfortable after 4 to 6 hours of break in time. When ordering use the European measurement. I wear 10 1/2 and ordered 44 and it fits with enough room for a thicker sock. To help break in, I used while doing yard work. These are not a light duty boot, and I feel they will be very durable and last for years. ... show more

  • To Shift or Not to Shift....aaah, that is the Question?
Size: 10 Color: Brown
I read the reviews and took a chance on these boots because I found an exceptional deal. Once I put them on, I jumped on my street bike sitting in the garage and noticed something was immediately wrong. I realized I could not easily upshift because of the larger surface toe area and the boot's stiffer protection than my regular street riding boots (mind you, not motorcycle boots). I wanted to love these boots so much because they look great and are very comfortable once adjusted properly, so I let it simmer in my head over for a couple of days and took another try on the weekend. It occurred to me then to get off my street bike and sit on dirt bike instead, and low and behold, no shifting problem. Hmmm? So I then jumped onto my son's street bike and notice the same thing, and it got me to thinking. I grabbed a tape measure, and checked the distance between the left foot peg and the shifter: my factory street bike was at 4.5" and the other two bikes at 5" distance. Eh? So the problem was not with the boots, but my bike ---- that's something that even I can easily fix with another shifter! Think I'll keep the boots! :) ... show more

  • These are okay, and comfortable.
Size: 12 Color: Brown
I don’t feel these will hold up for the long haul. I’m seeing some questionable things happening where the upper meets the sole. They are very comfortable, maybe a bit too flexible even.
