This is the second replacement screen I’ve put on my iphone, and I’ve replaced the batteries in several other phones, so I’m familiar with the repair process. The important stuff first: the screen works fine. It’s a cheap way to breathe more life into an old busted phone. Touch and image quality are good. Proportions do seem a bit off - the bevel is more pronounced than an OE screen, so glass screen protectors don’t sit flush at the edges. There’s also more of a lip - like it doesn’t sit quite as flush as the OE one. Installation was challenging. The ribbon connectors were much more difficult to click in on this screen than usual. The attention to detail overall was lower than the other replacement I used - the ribbon cables weren’t taped neatly, for example. Finally, no fault here as it’s clearly stated, but transferring the camera over was a major pain and way more difficult than expected. Finally the included tools were absolute garbage. Unusable - the screwdriver heads were deformed and the spudger broke with almost no force. Was thankful I had another set already. Next time I’ll spend a bit more for one with a pre-installed camera and better quality. But this one does the job if you’re on a budget and are patient.

Followed the online video and all seemed to work fine. the screen responded to touch and looked great. i did a test run before reattaching per video. However, once fully assembled, the phone heated up to scary temperature and an emergency notice popped up. The phone was turned off and left to cool down. I Googled ideas: from new hardware compatibility to software update to "all reset". After rest, phone will not even turn on. the apple icon appears and then nothing. Wondering now if it is a compatibility issue???

This review is no bull. For those experienced in repairs or diy it won’t be a problem. Most negative reviewers had no business attempting this repair and took it out on the product when they messed up their phones. Kit comes with everything you will need. The blue screwdriver opens the case and the clear red handle screwdriver will remove all inside screws even though it technically isn’t the right screwdriver for the y000 screws I had no issue removing them. I watched the video from the seller and also video from Real World Reviews on YouTube. The sellers video makes it look easier than it is to remove the cables which are very fragile and have super tough adhesive. Screen is not as good as original but it’s much better than the broken screen that had more pieces falling off daily. If you think you’ll finish this in under an hour first time you will brick your phone dollars to donuts. Must be patient and refer to video as many times as necessary especially for removal of home button. Good luck!
