People are making this harder than it has to be in some of these reviews. The big plastic thing sits at the edge of your toe when you measure. No one should have shoes that tight, so the arrow points to half a size larger. That’s your shoe size. If you like your shoes snug, order the size the arrow points to and if you like a bit more room, order a larger size. If the plastic piece pops/breaks off, use a straight edge to figure out where your toe is and go a half size larger. This device is still useful even if it’s ‘broken.’ Check with the manufacturer to make sure their size matches the centimeters side and order accordingly. Many claim to be one ‘size’ and the centimeters are way off. In that case, the foot measuring device was not at fault, the consumer is for not checking the details. I use this for my two toddlers who’s feet are constantly growing and I always order one size larger than the arrow recommends and have never had an issue as long as I compare the manufacturer size to the actual centimeters they claim that size to be. This thing has made online shopping for shoes a breeze.

Quality is as expected. Well packaged. My daughter's feet grow like weeds and I can never figure out what size she is in without going to the shoe store and trying on 10 pairs of shoes. This will be an excellent guide!!! A note about the negative comments on it being inaccurate.... When you put your foot on it, the number that lines up with the little arrows on the slider is your measurement (not what line is covered by the flat plastic piece that your toe goes against. The flat plastic piece and the arrow are exactly 1/2 size difference). I tested it in myself and my husband's feet and it's exactly spot on (flat white slider piece was at a 7, arrow was 7 1/2, and i'm a perfect 71/2 shoe. Same with husband, who is an 11).

What I have learned based on reviews and my own account. What the arrows inside the box does not tell me my shoe size it's actually a size over. The white line that sits where it touches your toe gives you your exact shoe size now. Hopefully that helps someone with how to use this. I have measured shoes as well as my foot, and childrens feet.

I bought this to help my husband realize what size actually fits him. He'd been going by the misguided advice given to him in childhood. I had thought that men didn't tolerate badly fitting shoes- I was wrong. Turns out his correct size is 1/2 size larger and one size wider than he thought. He had to admit he's much more comfortable now in the properly fitted shoes he hadn't thought he needed. 😉 Read the shoe size at the ARROW in the BOX, not at the tip of the toe. Your feet aren't wood blocks; they need to do more than just barely squeeze into the shoe. They're flexible and bend at the toes, arch and ankle as you walk. They NEED flexing room. That's why so many people who wear their shoes too tight/short (example, high heels with pointy toes) develop foot deformities such as hammertoe and bunions. You see many models with hammertoe. Poor things- they're doing it to themselves.

I bought this for online shopping for my toddler and 8 year old since I am not taking them to the store during the coronavirus. It is very accurate! At first I was confused as to how to use it. I have always worn an 8.5 in women's shoes so I was confused to see the lever in front of my toes stopped right at 8.5 but the arrows pointed a bit past 9.5. The reviews on here made me think it was a faulty product but after looking at a shoe size chart, size 8.5 in women's is for a foot that measures 9.6875 inches which is exactly what the arrows are pointing to. This works great!

First and foremost I cannot stress this enough, when you use this tool the arrows in the middle section are NOT identifying your shoe size. Where the horizontal bar hits a number after hitting your big toe is your shoe size. Having this in your house when you have growing kids is such a relief. No need to pack the kids up and chase them around the store to find a shoe. Kick back in the comfort of your own home and buy online or go without them. As many wise people say "Knowing is half the battle," but in this case its 80%

If you have an average width foot (or, if you already know your width) and just want a quick way to check size before buying shoes on the internet, this is a great thing to have handy. Waaaay cheaper than the fancier variety that you see in shoe stores. And saves you the hassle of having to guess at shoe sizes with kids who are growing fast. Note that it comes with no directions. So you should definitely pay attention to the reviews here which Do tell you how to read the little marks.

If you read the number at the arrows, you'll get a misleading (larger) size. If you read the number at the flat part of the bar, that is the true shoe size. Who came up with this design? Maybe arrows mean different things in China.......I'll keep it since I now know how to read it, but this thing is really wacky.
