Description

This Book Is a Food Truck Blueprint — Not Just Motivation Most people dream about owning a food truck. Very few ever launch one. Why? Because they don’t have the roadmap. This book gives you the roadmap. From the very first pages, Brian Mahoney makes it clear — this is about ending money worries and building something of your own. But what I love most is that this isn’t hype. It’s structure. He walks you step-by-step through: • Understanding the food truck industry • Identifying your target market • Building a profitable menu • Pricing for profit • Selecting winning locations • Navigating permits, health codes, and regulations • Choosing the right truck • Finding wholesale equipment suppliers • Creating a real marketing plan • Financing options — including SBA loans up to $5 million That’s not theory. That’s execution. The sections on business credit, crowdfunding, grants, and funding alone are worth the price of the book. Most “food truck” guides stop at recipes and vibes. This one dives into the business engine behind the truck. What really stands out is how practical it is. You’re not just told to “do market research.” You’re shown how. You’re not just told to “price correctly.” You’re given pricing strategies. You’re not just told to “market.” You’re shown how to build a structured marketing plan. This is a blueprint disguised as a beginner guide. If you’ve ever thought: “I want independence.” “I want control of my income.” “I want to build something real.” This book gives you the starting line. Bottom line? If you’re serious about launching a food truck — not just fantasizing about it — this is the playbook. Highly recommended. Read more

  • Food Truck Ideas
Format: Kindle
Due to the nature of my employment I am aware that I would have to ask for permission first if I ever did take a serious plunge into the food truck business to ensure that it would be conflict-free with my food service employment. I have seen a multiple number of food trucks in the Washington D.C. area in the past 7.5 years of residing in Hyattsville Maryland which piqued my curiosity to check out this kindlebook of Food Truck How To Start & Finance Your Business by Brian Mahoney. Some of the details he includes in this kindlebook; some of the places that food trucks open on shop for business such as college campuses, movie sets, military bases, events such as carnivals sporting events construction sites etc, the history of the food truck precursors such as the Texas chuckwagon of the later 1800s and one of the lunch wagons in Providence Rhode Island, later versions of the food trucks such as the mobile canteens that were opened in the late 1950s that were authorized by the U.S. Army and operated on army bases, food trucks being hired for events such as public gatherings for art festivals movie nights, different food trucks across various countries such as Belgium Canada France Mexico United Kingdom etc., one of the movies about a food truck, a website to go to for grant or loan money for a food business, web resource guide for food truck catering supplies, and more. ... show more

  • Practical, Straightforward, and Exactly What I Needed
Format: Kindle
I owned a restaurant before a few years ago, and I'm trying to find out making it to a mobile restaurant would be a smarter move. This book gave me clarity I didn’t even realize I was missing. What I appreciate most is how practical and realistic it is. It doesn’t romanticize the food truck business. Instead, it walks through startup costs, financing options, budgeting discipline, and operational planning in a way that feels grounded and achievable. The financial breakdowns helped me rethink my assumptions about overhead, cash flow, and risk exposure compared to a fixed-location restaurant. The sections on funding strategies and managing money pressure were especially valuable. Rather than vague encouragement, the author provides concrete steps to reduce financial anxiety and build a sustainable model from day one. If you’re transitioning from a brick-and-mortar setup or exploring your first venture, this book offers both strategic perspective and hands-on guidance. It’s a strong resource for anyone serious about entering the mobile food industry with confidence and financial control. ... show more

  • Nothing new here.
Format: Paperback
A great start if you've given absolutely no thought to starting a food truck. It's presented in a very simple way, briefly touching on many of the topics that should be considered if interested in a food truck. However, if you've done any type of research at all, watched any YouTube videos, visited any websites on the subject, you won't find anything here useful. Again, a great starting place for someone with zero knowledge, but nothing for those already researching. ... show more

A thoughtful guide for anyone looking to start a food truck business. Lots of guidance and information, from writing business proposal to the type of business setup required. My favourite part is sourcing funds especiall applying for government grants. I found that very educative and informational. A good informational material. ... show more

  • Good book to begin a food truck education
Format: Kindle
This book gave me the basic info I needed to start learning about the food truck business, although the history of the food truck biz was a little long winded and unnecessary a the beginning. I found the funding information particularly helpful.

Brian Mahoney delivers a practical roadmap for anyone ready to stop dreaming and start building—covering permits, pricing, locations, and the real game-changer: financing options including SBA loans up to $5 million. • 90% of book has nothing to do with food trucks
Format: Paperback
Partner and I are opening a food truck, so wanted to research ways to help get funding. This book has one chapter on food trucks that is almost verbatim copy and pasted from Wikipedia "food trucks" including the cover art. The rest of the book is just generalized on starting a small business, and again a lot of course and paste from other sites including Wikipedia. ... show more
