The mattress comes wrapped in two plastic liners-one is a thin wrapping that protects the mattress from dust and debris, the other is a HEAVY duty plastic liner that keeps the very compressed mattress in its compressed state for shipping. You'll need a utility knife and a lot of care and patience to open the packaging without damaging the product. When the plastic is opened, it starts to "puff out" immediately. Give it the 24-48 hours they recommend before using to make sure it fully expands (using it prematurely can damage memory foam products). The mattress has the bonus of NOT having the plastic smell that some heat-sealed products do when opening. ... show more

The 6-inch memory foam mattress by Fontoi, is a great additional mattress. This mattress being only 6-inches isn’t really suited to be a solo fulltime mattress, but it’s great in a pinch or combined with other things. What I like: I. Quality – This is a well-made and very comfortable mattress for its size and purpose. II. Arrival Size – It’s amazingly convenient for it to come in a box that is this small. Weather your transporting it after it arrives or just moving it to the destination room, it’s very helpful. III. Softness/Comfort – This is a very comfortable mattress that I enjoy laying on. IV. Ongoing Care – The Washable cover is really convenient. To be able to easily unzip and wash the cover is an appreciated feature that will not go unnoticed. Things to think about: At only 6-inches thick you might think this is enough to be a mattress. In fact they tout it as a mattress, but for me it’s simple not thick enough to be a good choice as a singular, all the time mattress. It does work as one and is better than many other options. If you needed to use it as a mattress it would work fine provided you have proper support underneath. However, I find its true value as a great mattress, is for it to go on top of another sleeping device or with a 3+ inch topper on top of it. Overall, this is a great choice within the 6-inch memory foam mattress category. It excels in providing you with 6-inches of sleeping comfort to rest your weary back. This is ideal for back and stomach sleepers. Green tea-infused memory foam with a soft bamboo cover that can help regulate the body temperature while conforming to the body to ease pressure points. It will arrive compressed and rolled up in a box, just open it up and allow it to breath and take shape. I Febreeze mine and let it sit overnight and then I added fresh linens. The mattress is very soft and comfortable. I got it for my daughter, and she has no complaints. We are very pleased with it and highly recommend it. This is a 6in mattress--not very thick. Sleeping on it alone, it feels way more comfortable than the floor, and it is a step up from an air mattress. But I wouldn't use it as my primary sleeping bed. I can think of two situations where it would be great: 1) back of a vehicle if you are travelling. I intend to take this on a road trip and use it instead of a hotel or sleeping in the seat. 2) If you have an old mattress that isn't comfortable any more. The mattress did have a smell but all memory foams usually do and it was gone in a day. I love memory foam and this one is really comfortable. Fits the day bed perfect.
