I decided to spring for this gold plated sterling chain as an upgrade and it is definitely exactly that. White gold has a different luster than sterling silver and this necklace has that same luster. It also has a heavy feel and the clasp is a well designed lobster claw. I got this chain as a temporary replacement when my solid gold chain for my necklace broke. So far it is doing the job. Fits well, seems pretty sturdy. Good lobster clasp, which gives me great peace of mind since the pendants I wear on it hold significant personal value and are irreplaceable to me. The only reason I took off a star is that is has more of a yellowish tint than I’d like it to. Seems like the rhodium plating didn’t cover the gold plating real well. Then again it is all just plating so you can’t expect it to look like a solid necklace would. Overall, good necklace for the money.

The seller of this chain claims that it's real 925 silver. I call bs! The first day I wore this chain was on July 4th. That night, I couldn't even sleep because I had this weird feeling of a slight burning/pain around my neck. The only way I can describe it is, it felt like I had shingles. There is NO WAY this chain is real. I will NEVER buy another chain from this seller. I've bought real jewelry from Amazon 4 times before and have never had any issues. THIS CHAIN IS DEFINITELY NICKEL BASED!

This necklace is comfortable and easy to clasp, but easily tangles in my hair. It is sturdy and a great price point. I have long hair and avoid wearing this necklace if I am leaving my hair down. If my hair is up it looks nice and works for the evening.
