Description

FoamTouch upholstery foam is made in the USA. FoamTouch upholstery foam is made of Polyurethane. High Density foam has a compression rate (ILD) of 44 lbs. ILD is a unit of measurement and refers to the number of pounds (lbs) of pressure or force that is needed to indent foam to a depth of 4” by 25%. This test is performed on an area of 50 square inches. High density foam is designed for that firm feeling for those who do not want to sink into their couch. FoamTouch has 100% recovery rate, 5-7 years durable and suitable for long-term use. All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard, and rolled for packaging. Foams are rolled under pressure to fit the box. The foam packages need to be opened immediately once you receive them. Do not let the foam sit unopened for more than 1 week. Do not open with a box cutter or any kind of blade. Use a ball point pen or a pencil. Start by making a little incision and break the seal (tape) from there. Please let the foam sheet lay flat for 48-72 hours before starting your project Ideal uses for foams are for Chair Pads, Seat Pads, Couch Cushions, Furniture, Pillow, Seat Cushions, Chair Cushions, Patio Cushions, Furniture Cushions, Rocking Chair, Car Seats, Bike Seats, Upholstery Repair, Foam Mattress, and Mattress. I built furniture at one time in my life, so I had the skill needed to fix our couch. A friend of ours had bought a $1,000+ couch. Very high end, what you would see in a rich home. Way out of our price range. But it was uncomfortable, It was horrible to sit on. Each cushion had it's own spring system that was covered in a thin layer of compressed foam. I removed that, cut this foam to size and recovered. It made that extremely costly couch comfortable. It sits great, firm and comfort. Purchased new furniture a few months ago and realized it was pretty soft. It wasn’t very comfortable for us, but I loved it still. Instead of returning I opted to try to firm up the seat cushions. This foam did the trick!! It came in rolls, it was well packaged and clean! I cut it to size and stuffed it back in with the original foam and batting. A feat in itself. But daaaaang! My brand new furniture feels like brand new furniture!!! We’ll have to give it time to know if it will handle my couch surfing. I ordered the 6x30x84. But I received the 4x30x84, I need the 6" depth for my project but now that it is out of the package and expanded, I cannot put it back to return. Otherwise it appears to be an excellent product.
