So happy with this purchase! I’ve ordered and returned several curtain panels that claimed to be ‘blackout’ but weren’t. My husband works a 12-hour swing shift so he is often trying to sleep during the day so true blackout curtains are totally necessary for our bedroom. I work nights so I have to sleep during the day. I also happen to be a light sleeper who is disturbed easily by any daylight coming in through my bedroom window. These curtains fit the bill-they are nice and heavy, easy to slide on a curtain rod thanks to the large grommets, and block all the sunlight from my room. As I write this It's 5pm on a sunny Southern summer afternoon, and my bedroom is pitch black except from a negligible amount of light coming in from the grommets. Win! ... show more

I was wanting particularly nice curtains for my hallway and was debating between these and patterned ones that were double the price. I went with these because they are black out and the other ones looked like they were not from the photos in the reviews. I know I should wait until i can prove they're black out but let me just applaud them for looking so much nicer than I expected. I hope they are as good at blocking out light as they are at looking beautiful. The only issue is that they are about 8 inches smaller in width than I expected. I think that's my fault - I must have used the measurements for a different window by accident maybe when buying these. ... show more

I purchased these for my office/music studio/gaming room. The window in this room faces south so the sun hits this window most of the day. As you can imagine, the glare makes gaming (on the big screen tv or on the pc) very difficult. But these curtains are exactly what I needed. Very little, if any, light gets through the curtains themselves, and they are big enough so that the light coming from around their edges is minimal. These are LIFE CHANGING! I wish I would’ve purchased these when my husband worked nights. I purchased these in dark blue and tan color. I noticed that the dark blue offered more room darkening than the tan. The dark blue will make your room dark enough to sleep even when it's midday sun outside. I recommend them if you are particularly light sensitive while sleeping.

I have bought other "blackout" curtains. They were not a complete blackout like these ones. There is absolutely no light getting through these curtains. I love them because the sun is on the front of my house all afternoon and you would never know it when I close the curtains.

Amazing! We got these to black out a window that has supposedly black out blinds on it already - but the blinds did nothing for the AZ sun! We have a 4 month old who needs the blackout curtains more than we do, but we are impressed with how much light they truly block out, as well as the change in temperature in the room.
