It's definitely loud
Be prepared the o.e. exhaust is a royal P.I.T.A to get off if you are doing this in the driveway or home garage. That's no fault of flowmaster though. Once that's off the new exhaust goes on very easy. When I first cranked it up I was absolutely floored by how great the jeep sounded who would have guessed that the pentastar could sound good? I will say it is quite loud when you are getting on it and from a stop getting up to speed sounds like you're trying to do pulls at the strip but once you're at cruising speed it isn't too bad. The drone is minimal and I run a soft top all year so those with a hard top will hear it even less. I'm sure my neighbors absolutely hate my jeep now but oh well thats a them problem because I love it. If you're on the fence just pull the trigger you'll love it!

It can be louder than expected.
Easy install . Wanted it for offroad purposes for clearance. Once it broke in , it sounded better, opened up a little more . I did add a Borla 3in. Resonator to it. It made a bigger difference in needed back pressure and toning down the loudness. All in all , it sounds good and performs well.

Incredible
This is for my fully restored 2008 racing jeep. I had a $150 Amazon basics muffler tailpipe assembly that failed prematurely because of junk parts from metalcloak. It’s a proper racing jeep again. No 12 foot long lead balloon bolted to the engine.

Loud, vaguely obnoxious, and illegal
Definitely loud, definitely drones and I definitely don't care. My JK is a 2014 2 door, and despite being well maintained and hitting the clamp bolts with penetrating lubricant the night before, it was a pain to get them off. The last one was spun around facing the undercarriage, and rather than fight it, I used a torch to cut it off. Install required cutting 20.5" off the inlet pipe to accommodate the shorter 2 door wheelbase. Obvious in hindsight, but something I had overlooked in planning. Would have made more sense for flowmaster to just split the inlet pipe in two and send another clamp. Would also have been nice to have it dump a little further back.

WOW
So I wasn't sure what I wanted to do as a exhaust for my new jeep, I knew I wanted a nice sound, but wasn't wanting to spend over 1k on something that might make the jeep sound nice, or might make it sound like a ricer. So I decided to give this a shot, and man am I glad I did. This thing sounds amazing, it is definitely a loud exhaust, have a buddy who has a charger and everyone says that mine sounds better than his. I am sure my neighbors are not happy with me, but I have a couple motorcycles too, so I am sure they were happy come winter time, now not so much. This thing is going to not help out your MPG's right away as you will want to hear the sound, once you get a couple months down it will mellow out and you will be back to normal. Also can feel a little power difference but doesn't really kick in till between 3 and 4k on the tac (Standard jeep here too) but you will not regret getting this! Easy to install as well!!

Won't pass emissions or state inspection (Virginia)
Let me start with it's a little loud, but still like it. Unfortunately in Virginia, it will not pass a state inspection, or emissions test because it does not extend far enough back, very disappointed after purchasing this, and then paying to have it installed, I am now out the money for the exhaust and install. It looks like I will have to buy a new system because with no emissions, I cannot renew my tags, nor will they even inspect it. I would have preferred to contact the seller to resolve, but didn't see an option to do that. This should have been noted in the description of product.

Didn't fit (returned)
Jeep JK Wrangler 2dr with 3.75" Rock Krawler lift kit on 35" tires. The product came well packaged. No damage noted to it. Instructions were provided and there's plenty of youtube videos available for the install. Installation was a breeze however, the length of the midpipe was too long, and it's angle ran directly into the rear axle making it not a viable option. If you can cut the mid pipe so it fits, sure this works, but I was looking specifically for "bolt on/plug and play" and this didn't work. The midpipe would need roughly 5-6inches cut for the muffler (measure yourself to verify) to fit on, but the angle even with the rubber retainers would cause problems on available rear compression/travel when rock crawling. Looking into other options, though a custom exhaust/muffler may be my only choice. (04/04/2026) After not finding anything that works I let it go for a few years. I’ve comeback looking into exhausts and the biggest thing I’ve found thus far is that after to get a significant lift on your jk, the angles for the rear axel and correlating suspension make a bolt on option not plausible. Custom job or modification WILL be required. Keep that in mind. I am considering repurchasing this exhaust and making the necessary modifications.
