this dress is so cute! The only reason I am returning it is because the material is fairly thin. I have quite a bit of cellulite on the front of my thighs and I felt like you could see it through the dress (3rd pic). The spanks I was wearing helped a lot around my hips and bottom area but because of the slit in the front wearing longer spanks would not have helped and would have shown through.     • My shapewear showed through
I am 5'5, 225 lbs, 38b with a belly and large backside. Size large was the recommendation but I got the XL instead to accommodate my big arms, belly and backside. I really liked how the XL fit as opposed to the large being more form fitting. The color is called rust but it is more of a light pinkish brown. It has shiny tinsel woven into the fabric and some people may say it looks cheap, however I was buying the dress to wear to a wedding reception next weekend. The only reason I returned this is because it is a thin stretchy fabric and my shapewear was showing through, even after going with a bigger size. This dress is one of my favorites I have ever worn. The material is heavier than I expected so it hung in all the right ways and wasn’t tight or clingy anywhere it shouldn’t be. The color is gorgeous, especially with a bit of a tan and it has a little bit of a sheen/shimmer which totally adds to the look. The twist keeps the lower neck line from coming apart which keeps the look classy and it also helps hide any problem areas. It also drapes nicely at the hips. I was worried about the slot in the middle, but it is really flattering in person. The weight of the dress material again helps keep this dress right where it should be. I am 5’1” and around 130 pounds and ordered a small. This dress had such potential to be the perfect blend of elegant and sexy. The material is extremely thin, as stated by other reviewers. It does show the outline of your undergarments, but not too badly. If that were the only problem, I would let this slide. Sadly, because the material is so thin, loose thead and holes are very easy to find or create. The twist in the center is made by there being a hole in one side of the fabric, the dress being put through the hole, and the dress being pulled out of the hole, and the remainder of the fabric being sewn together to create the seam down the middle in the front. The problem is, the hole created on one side of the fabric doesn't appear to be hemmed. So all around it, the fabric is frayed. It created a hole that showed my skin around the twist. There were loose thread ends all over the hems in the arms. I purchased it to wear to a party on New Year's Eve and didn't have time to buy something else, so I made it work. It fit me as expected. The dabeox was better than expected. Super stretchy, kind of shimmer on the silver side, better in person than in the original image. It was a bit thin, you could definitely see though the fabric, especially with a flash photo. I wore nude spanx and that fixed the problem.I would’ve worn the spanx anyways. The dress was not very see through on the black side so, you can expect any lighter color dresses will be more sheer than a darker dress. Loose around my tummy but tight on my back side which, I appreciated. Felt sexy but covered at the same time. The twist in the front had too big of a hole on one side so I was constantly checking to make sure everything was tucked and unexposed. However, I Would definitely repurchase In another color. Got a large at 191 lbs 5'5 42 chest 36 waist and 45 hips. It is in fact sheer and the slit goes up a bit high when you get a tighter fitting dress. Highly suggest not wearing underwear as the lines are very noticeable even with a thong. I purchased a Skims body suit, however even with their seemless panty lines you could still see the lines because of the thin and tight material. I highly suggest if lines bother you, go a size up and get it in black. The bottom half was snug. I would have probably been better off with a size up for that nice draping feel! If you have bigger hips and legs just head my advice and go up a size. The bottom is very snug. Otherwise I absolutely loved this dress! This looked pretty cute. It’s a great way to hide your stomach if you’re insecure about that. The fabric is nice and stretchy which is nice. The one thing I don’t like is that the fabric is thin. I was worried people would see my butt on the back side of the dress. Also the knot isn’t totally sewn together so you can see your skin through parts of it. Luckily I ordered it a size too big so it wasn’t really a problem but it would be if it fit tighter ... show more
