I got this dress for my birthday dinner, and I was shocked at how flattering it was for my pear-shaped figure. This fabric is not see-through, and it hides any sort of imperfections. It's just the right amount of cleavage and length. Very classy and elegant. I think you could use this for various events depending on the color, but I will definitely be buying more colors. I ended up getting it taken in since it was actually way too big (should have just ordered the large or even a medium like I usually am). I didnt know if a 1X or 2X would fit me better, so I ordered both to try on. I got two different dresses. Both black, satin dresses with the swoop in the front. Both came in at 1X. The one that looks like the image was a bit tight across my chest (im a 38C) but fit perfectly everywhere else. The other one was just plain and not as flattering. I like this fit of this dress, and the fabric is not sheer, nice color. My main complaint is that it is obviously cheaply made, without a liner, and will not stand the test of time. I wore it to the intended wedding, and it worked well, but I doubt I wear it again, and environmentally I don't like that. The design elements of this dress are great. The faux wrap of the skirt with draping conceals the mid-section well. The quality could definitely be better. The bust is tighter than expected. The dress is only partially lined which makes it feel cheaply done. The bust is lined and the skirt is lined about half way down, so the midsection and mid thigh down are unlined. I don’t think it would be as obvious in a darker color, but the partial lining really takes away from the quality of the dress. I otherwise would have given this dress five stars. I am happy with the fit and the dress is comfortable. The zipper seems low quality also, but it hasn’t given me issues as of yet. This item runs smaller than the sizing recommendations. I ordered a Large plus and my measurements are 36 bust, 30-31 waist and I typically wear a size 10. I’m 5”3 and the dress falls mid calf. Overall, I like the dress for its design and comfort, but sizing runs small and the quality needs improvement. Hope this helps! ... show more
