I was happy to have received my order earlier than promised so I opened the box and was pleased that the shelves were well packed with bubble wrap and there was a thank you note appreciating supporting US made products. Before removing the bubble wrap, I noticed a substantial crack in the center of one of the shelves so I slid the defective shelf out a bit and felt along the crack. It ran across the fascia of the board and I could feel the crack on the opposing side of the shelf. This led to the conclusion that the shelves are made by gluing two smaller pieces of wood together. The wood pieces are beautiful in itself and this did not do it justice. One of the pictures also shows the mounting bracket with a bent end which would probably result in the shelf not sitting flush against the wall. I ordered a replacement hoping that this was just an anomaly. What is most disappointing is trying to support US businesses and the end result is a poor quality product. How could a product like this be sent to a customer and expect the customer to be happy with it? I just happened to see another customer’s review with a description of the defect that matched mine and it occurred to me what if I received her returned order? Could this be a quality control issue? I’ll have to wait for my replacement order to find out. Please don’t make me take more rating stars away… I received my replacement order and guess what? The same issue with the seam is still there. The replacement shelves are three narrower pieces this time and the stain was lighter in color than the first order but the seams are separating and in a high humidity location where I live, the seams will not last long. Disappointing. Otherwise, this product would be great because they are nice solid pieces of wood.

You know how it is when you're working on a project & can't wait to do the finishing touches? So disappointed today when I opened my package & found both shelves with defects. 1 had a very small chip in the front lower left corner. Thought I could live with that & maybe touch it up. However, I hadn't realized shelf is not a single board but rather blocks put together (on me for not looking closer at the description/pics) & the 2nd shelf had a huge crack down the middle starting at 1 end where the wood blocks were not secured together. On the positive side, order came sooner than originally told & I think I would have liked them if they hadn't been defective. Update: Thought I would give it a 2nd try & reordered but, unfortunately had similar outcome. Photos 3 & 4 were from the 2nd order & again you can see blocks separated. Oddly enough 1 board had spots from the bubble wrap that would not wipe off.

Wow, these were very easy to install and had great instructions! If only other products had such easy-to-follow installation instructions. I put up four shelves in under an hour and they look beautiful. These are about 10 pounds each and you can feel how dense the wood is. The only thing I'd add is to use a 5/16" drill bit instead of a 1/4" to drill the anchor holes. Otherwise, the anchors have a tendency to bend when putting them in.

Needed to let them air out a day before installing due to stain smell. These are good quality, and I'm ultimately happy with finished effort; however, the hole pattern on each bracket reverses, which isn't what is shown in the directions (only one hole pattern). We thought the sticker must be wrong, so we drilled holes before we realized that the sticker was right and the hole pattern alternates. That could be made a little more clear by just making the stickers say "THIS SIDE POINTS UP" rather than an arrow.

Luckily I read the reviews before buying these. I liked the look and felt good about giving it a try for the price. Decided to order 2 sets even though I only needed one, knowing I could return one. So happy I did! I used one shelf from each box, as each set of shelves had one damaged shelf (multiple boards are glued together and result in visible gaps instead of a solid looking shelf). One of the "good" shelves had a bent bracket but they slip right out, so I swapped it with one from the damaged shelf. I now have 2 nice shelves with straight brackets! The company seems to have rectified the issue with the bubble wrap leaving marks. Both sets of shelves I received had cardboard between the shelf and bubble wrap. Finish was great!

Update: I had to take off a couple of stars. After a couple of weeks one of the shelves kept slanting downward. The interior metal bracket is bent. We didn't have anything heavier than a jar of q-tips on it so I'm not sure why. We tried to bend it back but we're unable to and unfortunately because it's past 30 days I'm not able to contact the manufacturer to try to get a new bracket via Amazon. It's too bad because the wood is beautiful. We were really impressed with the quality of these shelves. The wood is gorgeous and the shelf is very sturdy. Wish this seller had more of these in different lengths.
