  • Fancy Cork Board Art Frame
Style: 6mm thick Size: 96" x 48"
Great DIY project! I turned a big picture frame into a functional piece in my studio. I ordered the 6mm cork board role based on previous reviews cork and there was no cracking. After rolling the cork material out gently, I placed books and such to flatten out the role. Than, I cut two sheets of cork with a box cutter on a mat surface to double the thickness (optional). I than used simple wood glue between the two cork pieces and one thick foam core board (which added structure and support); sandwiched the material together with weight and let glue dry for a day. Con. I tried the gorilla spray adhesive in the beginning-which was pointless; too weak for this project. ... show more

  • Great Value
Style: 6mm thick Size: 96" x 48"
Natural cork is super expensive, so I was pleased to find this giant roll at this price. Yes, it can be brittle, but that’s just the nature of the material. Mist it with a spray bottle of water and allow it to unroll on its own for a few days. Mist with water every few hours and gently coax it to unroll a bit more each time. Yes, if you try to unroll it dry right out the box, you will break it. That’s just cork. ... show more

  • GOOD VALUE
Style: 6mm thick Size: 72" x 48"
Received the product in a timely manner. We would have preferred going with the cork board tiles, but the cost was prohibitive. So, on that note, you have to roll the roll out very carefully. Put weights on the ends. This will tear really easy, so you have to handle with kid gloves. We were using this corkboard for our Fellowship Hall Bulletin board at church. The installer had no help and so therefore it was a headache to put up. Once put up it looks great. I would highly recommend two people handling this product. It is not a one person job. ... show more

  • Disappointing Quality – Do Not Recommend
Style: 6mm thick Size: 72" x 48"
I had high hopes for this cork roll, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. I followed the instructions carefully, including wetting the cork as directed, but it tore easily during installation. The material was so fragile and flimsy that I had to rip it out the very next day. For something advertised as suitable for DIY bulletin boards or dart board backing, it completely failed to meet expectations. I’m now stuck looking for a new solution and will never consider buying cork again. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for a sturdier alternative. ... show more

  • Worked well for lining wire shelving - forget the plastic liners
Style: 3mm thick Size: 288" x 48"
I used this to line lots of wire shelving so small items don't wobble between the wires and glass jars don't clank when set on shelving. I put a pole through the center of the roll (broom handle would work), set either end up on two wire shelving units, and unrolled onto the top of folding tables. I used cardboard as a cutting guide and cut the cork with a box knife / razor blade. There were some jagged cuts where the cork "frayed" a bit, and a few cracked/split edges on maybe 8 of the 30 liners I made. Because its a roll the cork is very curved and I had to weight down the edges to get it flat. After sometime weighted it does now stay flat on its own. (I didn't check on it for a week or more, so not sure how long it takes to flatten out). Certainly more work than plastic shelf liners, but looks great, sounds nice when setting items on it, and way more ecologically sound. This stuff will turn back into soil quickly when I'm done with it, plastic will stick around for your grandkids to choke on. Looks too thin for a bulletin board, most tacks/pins would go through into the wall behind. *earthquake tested* had a 4.6 earthquake yesterday and I watched all the cork-lined shelving with hundreds of glass bottles and jars, nothing fell over! ... show more

  • Bad smell but simple to cut and seems like it will hold up well.
Style: 6mm thick Size: 72" x 48"
I bought this to put on the back of some 'window frame' picture frames I bought. I want to be able to swap out pictures within the frame blocks without having to tear the frames down all the time. The thickness of the cork is very nice. The denseness seems fine. The cork has a terrible stinky sock smell that after a week if finally starting to go away. The cork comes rolled up which I had a little bit of a hard time working with it because it didn't want to roll out. I wish I had a spot where I could have let the roll relax and breath naturally but it is a rather large hunk that I didn't have room to let it relax on its own. Luckily I was able to roll out a hunk of about 14" wide and cut it off and then it was rather tough but I managed to get a second hunk 14" wide cut off so I could get the 4 picture backs I needed. Then I just used a staple gun with 1/2" staples to hold it to the back of the frames. A cheap small razor knife worked really well to cut it. ... show more

  • Just what we needed
Style: 6mm thick Size: 72" x 48"
Based on other reviews about it breaking when unrolling, we soaked this in the tub for a bit before unrolling. This may have been overkill and did take a couple of days to dry, but we unrolled it with no problems. The cork is nice and thick (I got the 6mm). It was slightly bigger than it was supposed to be (4' X 6'). It cut very easily and smoothly with a utility knife. We bought some Liquid Nails/extreme heavy duty adhesive at Lowe's and troweled it on the desk to put the cork on, then weighed it down with books for 24 hours (cure time on adhesive) and it worked beautifully. Looks great! ... show more

  • Inner Cork is Unusable
Style: 6mm thick Size: 72" x 48"
The size of the cork roll is substantial, so you're thinking it's all usable. WRONG! The outside of the roll seems pliable and workable enough, because the winding is much less severe. But the further into the center you get, the more unmanageable it becomes, to the point that the cork easily tears when you attempt to straighten it, even if you're careful. In my opinion, you're better off buying sheets of cork, or even squares and patch them together. My experience was that the cork roll is wound way too tight to ever hope to utilize it all. ... show more
