  • Solid desk, great value for the money
Size: 48x30" Color: Mahogany
I've used high-end electric desks at work, and since you typically get what you pay for, I was a bit wary of buying one for home that was so relatively inexpensive. But overall the reviews were positive enough (especially regarding customer service) and there were some good tips regarding assembly, so I figured it was worth the risk. Both boxes arrived with the contents in perfect condition: the boxes used very thick, heavy cardboard, and the corner protectors on the desktop were made of a very dense rubber. I've unpacked a lot of furniture (assembling desks for classrooms and computer labs), and the packaging for this desk puts many so-called "commercial" products to shame. Any damage that might occur would be due to careless shipping and handling - not how the factory packed it. Assembling the desk was straightforward enough, although I've put together enough of this sort of furniture over the years that there weren't any surprises. Just take your time, follow the steps, and you'll be fine. This can be assembled by one person, but a second set of hands will make things easier. All of the pre-drilled holes lined up where they were supposed to. One assembly tip: line up one of the end holes in a leg with its corresponding hole in the desktop, and drop a thin nail into the hole to give it something to pivot around. Then with that hole aligned, line up each of the other holes, again dropping a thin nail into each one until they're all aligned. Then drive the screws, replacing each nail, one at a time. No guesswork, no misaligned screws, no do-overs. The only two pilot holes I had to add were for the center crossbar, so you will need a drill and a small bit (a hand drill or pin vise would work for this). For driving all of the screws I used a hand screwdriver, so I wouldn't run the risk of stripping out the particle board. Everything went together very nicely. There were no stripped threads or alignment issues. Overall, I felt the quality of the desk and and the fit and finish of the parts were excellent and exceeded my expectations. The motor operates pretty quietly, and raises and lowers the desk just fine, even with a bunch of stuff piled on top of it (I don't plan on testing what its limits are - it holds what I need). I had an error message pop up on the controller once when I attempted to recall a saved height, but unplugging the desk from power and reconnecting it resolved that. No issues since. The desk is solid and stable. At its higher settings it will sway a little bit when leaned on, but that's just physics at work - if you need something that's really solid at full height, get something with four legs instead of two. The only (minor) gripe that I have is that the cords could be a bit longer: the one for the control panel so you could reposition it if you needed to; and the power cord which barely reaches the width of the desk. I'm very pleased with this purchase. It met my budget, and exceeded my expectations. It's a good-looking, solid, quality desk. Hopefully it'll hold up over time - but so far, so good! ... show more

  • Flexispot desks make good standing desks that are good for one's physical health and are reasonable
Size: 55x28" Color: Mahogany
in late 2023, I slipped on black ice and fell, breaking my femur and after recovering, realized I needed a way to be at the computer and stand periodically to one, stretch my legs, and two, standing is preferable to just sitting and thus realized a standing desk may be what the doctor ordered. Had been thinking of getting one for a while but they were usually quite expensive but at some point discovered Flexispot and a bunch of desks here on Amazon, most running $300 or less for something roughly 45-55 inches wide. Some looked cheap, others nicely made, even if a single motor base. Turns out Flexispot has an Amazon store and bought this desk on sale. Read reviews of Flexispot and most were positive. With the exception of the L shaped desk (of which I was considering) that had a 2 piece top, the rest were single piece but in the end, ended up with the EN1, black base/mahogany chipboard top to replace my aging IKEA fixed height desk I'd purchased some 20 years ago that is hollow core inside and without a center support had begun to sag, especially with a keyboard drawer hanging underneath. Assembly was straight forward and utilized my drill to put it together as I had the proper bits to utilize the allan key screws and that made it even easier to put together by myself. It's a solid, heavy-ish desk, but it's a single motor base but it raises and lowers nicely, once I get all the cables so they don't catch in the raising of the desk for standing as one speaker cable got caught and fell on the floor. I now have a sling to house cables and surge protector so all can move up/down as needed. The size, 55x28 is a bit bigger than the old desk and with the support beam holding the 2 legs together, it's a solid piece and even when at full height, it's still fairly solid but likely more so when on the floor, rather than carpeting. I plan on getting articulating arms for the monitors as at the moment, am using the shelf from the old desk to hold the monitors until I can obtain the clamp on arms. even it is sagging a touch for the same reason. Setting the sit/stand positions was easy, just put it where you want it, and press/hold the sit button for instance for 5 seconds, and it's set, how much easier can it be? I still have 2 other settings to use and two manual up/down buttons and display. Turns out, the 28.2 was close to where I needed for sitting. I still need a keyboard tray and may make slight adjustments there and in standing mode, which is 44 something inches. This particular base runs from roughly 28.1 to I think 48". Not bad. Some bases do go lower for little kids to use as necessary and likely a bit taller for taller folks but for me at 5'10", it's fine as is. While at it, I did rearrange my office so the desk now faces the window. Room is on the small size, but it now feels a bit larger than it is. ... show more

  • Simple and sturdy adjustable desk
Size: 48x24" Color: Black
It's exactly what I needed and hoped for our of a small desk. So to start it was reasonably easy to put together, however, the labeling of parts should probably be done. There's not a ton of parts so it's not hard to figure out, but labeling reduces cognitive load. The desk is nice, structurally, stable, and adjusts height at a reasonable pace. I originally bought it for work but it also works for my gaming setup though I may take down the tower later if I can figure out wire length issues when in standing height. All in all, it's a good fit and a comfortable one. ... show more

  • GREAT DESK for college students
Size: 48x24" Color: Black
The value you get with this desk is AMAZING! If you read the instructions carefully, then it is easy to build. There are side notes to help you with building it. It is very sturdy and the quality of the materials is great! The desk moves up and down as long as you follow the instructions regarding the placement of the motor. The desk fits in my room and holds my binder, laptop, and college books all at the same time. The only thing I disliked was that none of the parts were labelled. It took me a little bit to figure out which leg was the right and left side. I wish the motor were a little more powerful, as it takes some time for it to transition from the seated to the standing position. Overall, I highly recommend this desk! ... show more
