Features

  • Quit using a sandpaper wrapped tongue depressor or emory board to get into those tough to reach areas. The Sanding File works just like a normal file does. Thats what makes this tool so unique! It gives you the look and feel of a tool that you already know how to use and it feels just right in your hand when you're using it. The only real difference between it and a file is that this file uses sandpaper instead of a metal abrasive.
  • This allows you to sand those wooden areas that are normally hard to reach with bulky and hard to handle sanding blocks. It definitely beats folding, paper and folding the paper again to try and get in that tight spot.
  • The Sanding File has a clip system that easily accepts the sandpaper strips that are included with the tool.
  • Strips can also be cut from any standard 9 x 11 sheet of sandpaper (not included) or 1" wide sandpaper rolls (not included). Sanding Surface is approximately 5-1/2" long on both sides.
  • The Sanding File comes with 1 ea. 80, 120, 160, and 240 pre-cut sanding strips to get you started.

  • Versatile and affordable
Decorative metal work involves many tasks for files, from coarse shaping through the most delicate refinements to a workpiece. Steel files, in a range of shapes, sizes, and cuts, have been standard members of the toolboxes, from starting student to master artisan. There's nothing like just the right file for the job. But the best files are expensive. (Not the same thing, but ask your hairdresser what s/he paid for scissors.) Sets of good files are more expensive. This tool certainly does not replace such gems, but offers affordable versatility across a good part of the range. Although the tool body is plastic, not steel, the real tool is its abrasive surface. Unlike shaped and hardened file surface, this abrasive is affordable sandpaper or wet-or-dry, in grits from 100 (or coarser) to 2000 (or much finer). True, the working surface doesn't last like hardened steel, but it's replaceable. And you can replace it with any grit you want, while your #2 cut file will be #2 forever - or until it dulls. If you're a master machinist, you snorted and walked off long since. But I'm a handyman/hobbyist with bounded budget. For me, the versatility of replacing the cutting surface with anything you want holds huge appeal, and helps me save up for the next real file that I think will use what that special moment in a special project warrants the effort. -- wiredweird ... show more

  • Perfect
Works great for my project, the clamping part to hold the sandpaper down isn’t so amazing, works ok but that’s why I also ordered rolls of the sticky back stuff that I reviewed earlier.

  • A good tool
This is one of many sanding tools I keep handy as a wood carver, and is especially good for needing a flat sanding surface in tight crevices. Easy to use, easy to change strips, inexpensive, useful value for the money.

  • Was able to make it work
Had a tight sanding job to do. The sand paper stays clipped at the base but slides off at the top so have to keep putting back in place. I made it work for what I needed but product design needs a little improvement.

  • Paper does not stay on.
Very frustrating when you always have to readjust the paper. Doesn’t take much for it to come lose

  • Good Idea - A Little Disappointing
I really need this type of tool. I like the size and that I can quickly change sandpaper. Where it falls short is that the surface is not flat. The plastic shrinks in the mold so the surface is dished in. I added a few layers of blue painters tape in narrowing strips to smooth it out. The supplied strips are a bit too short to hold well in the weak clamp. I sanded 1/8" off the end of the plastic blade which helps. ... show more

  • Very handy tool. Use any sandpaper cut to size
So handy for epoxy resin work and pre-treat wood. I use it for first sanding after resin pour and some prep of wood before. It’s a little trickier to get the paper taught. But that is of little consequence.
