i really wanted to love this given all the hype around these backpacks. i purchased it for my trip out to CA since it wasn't a normal backpack that made me look like i was going back to school, but rather could be worn casually with different outfits. the thin straps look better than a normal backpack (i'm comparing it to my north face backpack that i used for school and still use for traveling today) but if you're wearing a tank top, they will scratch your skin (it's fine with a short/long sleep shirt or with a jacket/sweater). it is super light so that's a plus but there isn't much in the way of padding or support so not ideal. also, it's just a big sack in the middle so if you want to organize your stuff, you need pouches. my healthy human bottle doesn't fit in the side pockets so i just used those for chapstick or my phone. it won't replace my north face backpack for traveling purposes but i can chuck it in my luggage to use out and about when exploring a new city and if i don't want to wear a purse or tote. if i could, i would probably return because i don't think it's worth the money but since i can't, i'll keep it and use it when i can.

I wanted a backpack for travel that wasn’t bulky or looks like “this fits 5 computers.” Took this on an international trip as my primary purse/day bag and it did not disappoint. I am still using it after the trip bc i love it so much. It’s water resistant, not waterproof. It held up in multiple days of rain, my items were only a little damp. I was impressed. I want to try the wax Fjaraven sells to waterproof. Next time! Love this little bag.

It took just a week to arrive Saudi Arabia by DHL " paid 49.82$ for shipping .. It's an authentic re-kanken.. I ordered the kanken in Slate colour and i was worried the grey colour will be close to green but it's so beautiful, it's more like blue grey. The embroidered mono logo gives it a more vintage and classic look, it goes with every outfit i could possibly wear .. " from a personal perspective I wouldn't wear a kanken with a red logo with a pink dress for example, but this one goes nicely with everything ". Expensive but worths every penny.. and above all it's a kanken that truly says without nature we're nothing.

I'm very pleasantly surprised by the Re-Kanken. Having owned a loved an Original Kanken for many years, I was worried that a recycled material would lose some of it's original soft fabric feel, but the new material actually feels like an upgrade, almost like a lightweight cordura. The tonal logo is a more grownup look. I basically graduated from the Original Kanken to the Re-Kanken.

Well made. It is on the smaller side. I thought I was buying a full size backpack, but this is either for an elementary sized kid, or an adult wanting a small backpack.
