I read a lot of reviews about this bag, many of them saying that the straps are too short but the description said “long adjustable straps” so I took my chances and I am so glad I did. Contrary to some of the other reviews, this is not the “kids” bag, if you look on the Kanken website, the kids bag and the mini bag are two different things. There was a leaflet right in the front pocket with instructions on how to adjust the straps, once you figure out that they need to be taken out of the D-rings at the top, you’re good to go. This is the perfect day bag when I don’t want to carry my heavy purse over one shoulder, I can throw the essentials into this bag with a couple bottles of water and a sweatshirt and I’m good to go. It’s adorable and the perfect size … I also purchased the shoulder pads which make it more comfortable to wear and I highly recommend them as well. I took one star off for the price of the black on black in comparison to the classic look but I do love the look of this bag so overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Here’s the thing. I discovered this brand and even though I’m a grown woman, I thought it was adorable. I wanted a backpack and like this one’s elegant simplicity. When it arrived, I loved the size and style but when I wanted to use it, I noticed the straps were very tight. I noticed it was an adjustable strap and set out to lengthen them. An hour later, after a few YouTube videos I realized I was actually doing it right but the straps are just not long at all. I had price compared this bag and everyone listed it as “mini”. Except at the Bag’s original site. The company itself does not list a “mini” bag. The smallest version, this one right here, is called “kids”. To me that explains everything. A child would not need a longer strap. However, a fashion-friendly person might love this bag but unless you’re petite and very thin, this particular bag style is not for us. I found the bag to be authentic and almost perfect aside from that.

Very small for an adult even though it’s a mini. I’m 5’11” and slim. I thought I could use this instead of a pocketbook hanging on my sore shoulders. The straps are so small you can’t put on back. There’s a handle but I don’t want to hold anything. So I returned it for the black No. 2 edition which is larger but not as big as the lap top No. 2 edition.

This is my everyday work bag. As a middle-aged professional I like the upgrade from the usual Kanken: the leather trim and all black materials. It is casual but not sloppy looking. The mini size gives it a true handbag vibe. It doesn't look or feel like a clumsy backpack.

Love this bag! Amazon’s as the only place I found black on black. This was my first Kanken so when I got it I looked at a YouTube video and showed you how to tell it if was authentic. There’s 10 markers and this bag had them all!!!!
