The biggest struggle I had when buying this backpack was deciding on the size I wanted. I was shopping for a Kanken because the backpacks I already had (a large Duluth pack and a Jansport Rightpack) were just too big for me and the amount of stuff I needed to carry as a junior in college. I'm 5'3" and the most I carry to class is a couple of notebooks, my pencil case, a water bottle, and a snack. So the first decision I had to make was between the daypack and the minipack. I went online to find some pictures of people wearing the different-sized Kankens to get a sense of the backpack's proportions. A lot of the pictures weren't very helpful (they were mostly for fashion blogs). But a lot of reviews said that the minipack was basically the size of a small purse, and I didn't think that would work for me. I ended up choosing the daypack, and it's the perfect size! It's smaller than my Jansport, but I can fit all of my notebooks (4 half-sized ones) and a regular sized folder, plus my water bottle and pencil case and a few other odds and ends. The other tough decision I had to make was what color Kanken to buy. Other reviewers suggested going to the Kanken website to get a more accurate picture of what the color of the backpacks would look like in real life, and this helped me a lot. I ended up picking the mustard colored one, and I love it! This is a nifty, sturdy little backpack that looks great, too! I love the Ochre Fjallraven Kanken Classic Backpack I purchased. I am currently not actively using it. I am passively using it as mask storage. I plan to use it for my next outdoor excursion. Whenever I go hiking or engage in any river sports, this is the bag I choose. It is supremely durable and repels water. I highly suggest buying and using some Fjallraven wax, using it, and letting it dry before exposing it to rough outdoor elements. It will protect the bag really well and insure it from incurring any rough damage. I love the Fjallraven fox patch! It is super cute and reflective. The handles are a nice ergonomic touch. They are easy to grip and hold onto. The backpack straps are nice and easy on my shoulders and chest. If I ever decide they are not, Fjallraven sells attachable pads to help out with that. Fjallraven customer service is excellent too. These bags come in a wide variety of colors to choose from. If I got some different colors, I think I would splurge on Brick, Fog and maybe Black as well. This bag would make for an all around excellent gift to anyone. I highly recommend this product. I bought it for a trip to use instead of a purse and it was great. It’s lightweight, but also can hold quite a bit if needed. I love this color. I will definitely use it for more than just traveling.

This is the only backpack i’ve owned that doesn’t cause my back to hurt, no matter how much stuff is in it. It seems like it was made out of good quality material that will last long. Looks small, but fit a lot in it. Very fashionable, I always get compliments on it.

This backpack is cute but immediately I knew we had to return it. I bought it for my 2nd grader as a school bag but it’s tiny- same size as the one she has been using since pre-k- and won’t fit her lunchbox, water bottle, gym clothes and notebook. bought it for the beach and it held up against sand. was able to fit a lot more in there than i expected. now i use it exclusively for medium sized electronics (Nintendo Switch, iPad) because it seems to be water-deterrent. my mom immediately wanted one for herself and she uses hers every day. tried using it for college and imo it wasn't designed to carry as much weight as i needed a book bag to. but if you travel light and/or don't carry a lot, it should be fine. i wanted one for so long and now i finally have one!! they are so stylish! ... show more
